Set in the heart of Hendersonville's historic Hyman Heights district, Killarney House rests on land first granted in 1789 and shaped over two centuries by some of the region's most influential families — early land speculators, Revolutionary War veterans, esteemed attorneys, Civil War figures, and a remarkable lineage of women who preserved and protected the home through changing eras. Expanded in 1908 by William Sharpe Smith, the supervising architect of the Biltmore Estate, the house evolved from a private residence into a beloved local landmark, at times serving as a boarding house, a gathering place, and later a charming bed-and-breakfast. Generations of owners added stories, craftsmanship, gardens, and character, each leaving their mark while keeping its spirit alive. Today, Killarney House blends this extraordinary heritage with modern comfort, offering guests the rare opportunity to stay in a beautifully restored home that has witnessed — and helped shape — the history of Hendersonville for more than 150 years.

Inside, the main level features multiple sitting rooms, a gracious foyer, a formal dining room, a study, and an updated kitchen with double ovens and a gas cooktop. Upstairs, the primary suite and additional bedrooms offer quiet comfort, along with a bright library and baths reflecting the estate's innkeeping era.

Outside, the estate's gardens feature nearly 200 plant varieties, shaded lawns, balconies, and porches perfect for morning coffee or evening gatherings. A semi-circular drive, stone pillars, copper gutter details, and mature trees add to the sense of arrival. Outbuildings with 220V power, a detached carport, and ample parking support modern convenience without losing historic charm.

Killarney House offers a truly unforgettable setting for gatherings of up to 100 guests, with its expansive wrap-around porch, manicured gardens, and timeless historic charm creating a picture-perfect backdrop for celebrations. Check in is at 4pm and check out is at 10am. We're happy to review early and late check requests and will do our best to accommodate. 14–31 days before arrival = initial payment is forfeited.
Within 14 days of arrival (or early departure/shortened stay) = all rent payments are forfeited, with cleaning fees and applicable taxes refunded as required.

Military Discount

Last-Minute Bookings
For reservations made **within 7 days of arrival**, additional verification is required to protect our homeowners and guests.
This includes:

* A photo showing the last 4 digits of the payment method in the primary guest's name
Failure to complete verification may result in cancellation.
