Collection O Night Bazaar Chiangmai

Value for money, location is near night bazzar, there are a lot of shops and restaurant nearby. Staff are kind. the facility is a little old but working. WiFi is unstable

The Tawan Court Hotel, labelled here as "Collection O Night Bazaar", is in need of serious maintenance. The light switches in the rooms are near the TV or bed frame; about 10 steps into the room rather than next to the door. You have to use your phone light to find the switch. The light is not bright, but instead dim. The bathrooms have fans for removing the moisture, but many of their rooms have broken fans. How do I know about more than one room during my week long stay? Let me tell you. I initially encountered a disgruntled neighbor who knocked on my door demanding to inspect my room because they had thought they heard a noise to which they did not. Because they were not given permission to search another guest's room, they reported this to the Front Desk and then called the police. I was awoken at 01:00 in the morning by the Tourist Police who were acting on that disgruntled neighbor's false report. This shows the caliber of guest that tends to stay at this hotel. I didn't blame the hotel for this incident. However, when I went to check with the Front Desk the next morning about changing my room due to the harassment, they gave excuses. The majority of the rooms in the hotel are visibly empty, so changing the room should not have been a problem, but I was told that I must wait until the next morning because it could only be done in the morning; despite the risk of further harassment by the neighbor who had extended their stay. I was told specifically, if they extended their stay then the hotel would assist me with moving to another room. This never happened. The neighboring guest continued to stay additional nights. Around 13:00 the hotel came to clean my room. Afterwards, they left the door wide open, the A/C, and the lights on for the entire world to enjoy until I returned around 21:00. That's a total of around 8 hours of my room being completely unsecured. All of my valuable property on display with a five-finger discount for any of the denizens of Chiang Mai. I was only told by the Front Desk "check to see if anything is missing". So then I had to go through everything I brought with a fine-toothed comb wasting more of my time. I did not notice anything missing though that does not mean nothing was taken. I'll also mention that there was a roof leak when raining and just outside my room, and only my room as far as I could tell for all 4 floors of the hotel, there was a lot of rain splashing on the balcony which created a puddle of water at my doorstep and splashed me with rainwater as I walked in or out of my room. By the time that they checked out, the hotel finally moved me to another room defeating the entire purpose. In that new hotel room, there were major maintenance problems prior referenced. Had to switch to another room. 3 rooms total. All with similar maintenance problems. Loud construction noises persisted throughout the day. Lastly, in the new room that I was in, the cleaning staff of the hotel knocked on my door in the morning to do a cleaning; as the door hanger instructed. It took me a few seconds to get to the door, so I said "wait a minute." The cleaning staff didn't wait. They immediately went to slide open my window, move the curtain, and twist my doorknob from the inside of my room! The most absurd thing I had ever seen. When they saw me and my fiance naked, they said "OH!" and ran away. The Front Desk dismissed this incident as "miscommunication". As if it is ever proper for hotel staff to open a room door for cleaning via sliding open an unsecured window. Note: I made sure to secure my windows with the lock after this incident. I usually never have to check that because most hotels don't have a window facing the main walkway; they have their windows facing outside of the room to the external wall of the building which is less accessible. Location is good, near night bazzar. Staff is very kind. Room is clean. Although facility is a little old but still useful. Weakness is that the WiFi cannot be connected sometimes, and room lights were not very bright so it is a little dark in room
