The location and the house: The vacation home is situated in the heart of one of the most idyllic villages in the Bavarian Alpine foothills. The village of Irschenhausen is nestled among rolling hills and surrounded by unspoiled nature, even though it lies just 25 kilometers south of Munich—and yet it feels like another world. Irschenhausen is part of the municipality of Icking and is known for its picturesque landscape, historic farms, and its rich cultural history. As early as the beginning of the 20th century, artists such as D.H. Lawrence and Rainer Maria Rilke, along with other intellectuals, were drawn here—the tranquility, the light, and the sweeping views of the Alps turned the village into a small, charming artists’ colony. Even today, you can still sense this special spirit. Walks through the village take you past flower-adorned farmsteads, meadows, and forests—and time and again, breathtaking views of the Isar Valley and the mountains open up before you. Just a few steps from the vacation home, the cozy beer garden at the Rittergütl invites you to linger—Alexander Linde and his team treat their guests to regional specialties and freshly tapped beer. Right next door is the lovingly restored Hollerhaus, which regularly hosts concerts, readings, and cultural events. Movie lovers may recognize Irschenhausen: The village has served as a filming location on several occasions, including for the popular series *Der Bulle von Tölz*. No wonder—the authentic charm and tranquil beauty of this place are perfect for the big screen. Our vacation home in the heart of Irschenhausen is the perfect retreat for anyone seeking peace and quiet, wanting to experience nature, and wishing to enjoy the authentic Bavarian way of life. Or for those who’d like to use the space to work in peace. Important information about the location and activities: S-Bahn Line 7 is a 2-minute drive or a 20-minute walk away.
