About this cottage rental

Merddyn Cottage is a charming countryside retreat set in the peaceful hamlet of Ceunant, near Llanrug in Gwynedd, and within easy reach of the Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park. Surrounded by beautiful scenery and boasting spectacular views towards the Menai Straits, this delightful single-storey cottage is ideal for families or couples seeking a relaxing rural escape.

The cottage benefits from off-road parking for up to four cars and welcomes you into a thoughtfully refurbished interior. The newly fitted kitchen is well equipped with everything you need to prepare delicious home-cooked meals, while the adjoining dining room provides a warm and inviting space to enjoy them together and share stories from the day's adventures.

After a day exploring North Wales, unwind in the sitting room, complete with a woodburning stove and Smart TV — the perfect spot to relax. The property also features a stylish family bathroom with a bath and overhead shower. When it's time to rest, Merddyn Cottage offers two comfortable bedrooms: a king-size master bedroom with its own en-suite bathroom, and a snug twin room ideal for children or additional guests.

Outside, guests can enjoy a well-maintained lawn with picnic bench, perfect for alfresco dining on warmer days. To the front of the cottage, a patio area provides a wonderful place to sit back, relax, and take in the far-reaching views across the Menai Straits.

The nearby village of Waunfawr offers a convenience store for essentials along with welcoming pubs and eateries. Outdoor enthusiasts will be spoilt for choice, with Eryri National Park on the doorstep, offering walking, birdwatching, mountain biking, wild swimming, and a wide range of adventure sports.

Attractions nearby include Greenwood Family Park, an eco adventure park for all ages, and the Plas Menai National Outdoor Centre, where guests can enjoy watersports such as windsurfing, sailing, and powerboating. History lovers can step back in time at Segontium Roman Fort, while coastal walks and breathtaking views await at Moel y Don beach. Caernarfon is just a short drive away, home to its magnificent castle and a wide range of shops, cafés, and restaurants. Further afield, guests can explore Bangor, Conwy, and the Isle of Anglesey, with its stunning beaches, watersports, and popular Sea Zoo.
