About this house rental
This home will be great for a couple or a family. Or, the space can be used for two or three couples.
The home nestles into the hillside. Enter the main entrance on the lower level, or better yet, access the upper level by driving around to the back. The living room, dining room, and kitchen are all located on the upper level, offering a better view of the mountains among the treetops.
The upper floor is open, spacious, and perfect for entertaining.
The living room features a modern sectional sofa with a full mattress sleeper, a 75-inch Samsung smart television with Bose sound, a fireplace, and a Masingo karaoke machine with 2 Bluetooth microphones.
The dining room's round table seats up to eight.
The kitchen has a gas stove and a dishwasher. Everyone loves the hand-crafted walnut table for dining, gathering, and watching the chef in the group create and enjoy the complete kitchen.
Beyond the full kitchen is a 20 x 24-foot deck with four lounges, ten folding chairs, a round dining table with an umbrella, and a BBQ grill.
A 15.5 x 19-foot playroom with sliding glass doors is off the deck. It features a 55-inch TV, a robust traditional game center, and acoustic guitars.
One of the Queen-bed bedrooms is upstairs, by a half bath. The other Queen-bed bedroom is downstairs, next to a full bath with a tub and shower.
The property is stunning with perennial landscaping, and from June through October, the hill above transforms into an ocean of green ferns. Deer frequent the property, often sleeping comfortably in plain sight. Fauns bounce through the fern, much like dolphins jump waves. The large kitchen window is your big screen theater to this nature channel. A wide variety of birds (and squirrels) are attracted to the bird feeders.
Woodstock, an artist colony, inspired the 1969 Woodstock concert in Sullivan County. The town is charming and has several farm-to-table restaurants, eclectic bars, and artisan shops. The Woodstock town center is a 2.4-mile, 5-minute drive away. The Bearsville restaurant complex and performance theater is a .6-mile, 2-minute drive or a 12-minute walk away.
A guest manual goes beyond detailing the fully outfitted kitchen with area recommendations for dining, hiking, biking, art galleries, sculpture gardens, and live music venues. Some of the area gems include the Overlook Mountain Trail, the 11.5-mile Rail Trail by the Ashokan Reservoir, Opus 40 (A quarryman's museum), the Woodstock Playhouse, the Woodstock Golf Course, the Colony Music Bar and Beer Garden, Levon Helm Studios, and the Bearsville Theater. The extraordinary Mohonk Mountain House with hiking trails is 50 minutes away in New Paltz. Belleayre and Hunter ski centers are less than 40 minutes away. Windham Ski Resort is less than an hour away.
