About this apartment rental
You can easily reach the entrance to your 77 m² vacation home by elevator. Once you arrive at the vacation rental, you’ll feel right at home. Bright, light-filled rooms and modern, luxurious furnishings in a maritime design create an atmosphere that is both elegant and inviting. Completed in 2022, this barrier-free residential complex is located just 100 meters from the newly renovated harbor of Lauterbach, a district of “Putbus, the City of Roses.” Lauterbach was founded in 1816 by Prince Wilhelm Malte zu Putbus as Rügen’s first seaside resort and is situated directly on the Greifswald Bodden in the southeastern part of the island of Rügen. Your vacation home features a beautiful balcony accessible from both the living room and the bedroom. Here you can enjoy the mild evening sun and wind down at the end of the day. The apartment also features a small infrared sauna for cozy evenings—perfect for relaxing even when the weather isn’t ideal. Modern smart TVs in the living room, bedroom, and guest/children’s room let you use your account to watch series and movies on Netflix, Amazon Prime, Sky, and many other providers. The fast Wi-Fi ensures you can stay connected to the world—if you’d like!
Surroundings
You can reach your accommodation by car (a private parking space is reserved for you) or by Deutsche Bahn. A Deutsche Bahn stop and the terminus of the historic narrow-gauge railway “Rasender Roland” are located directly on the Lauterbach pier, just 300 meters from your apartment. With the “Rasender Roland,” which runs regularly, you can easily reach the seaside resorts of Binz, Sellin, Baabe, and Göhren from the Lauterbach pier. There’s also an Edeka supermarket within a 5-minute walk to provide you with everyday essentials. The property’s location is ideal for active vacationers looking to take long walks or extended bike rides. In addition, an adjacent water sports school offers the opportunity to rent boats or take a sailing course during your vacation. Various restaurants in the immediate vicinity and right at the harbor serve a wide range of culinary delights. Freshly caught fish is also available at the harbor and can be prepared yourself in the fully equipped kitchen of your vacation home. The city harbor and the marina, with its beautiful promenade, have been given a new lease on life following the recent extensive renovation. From the nearby harbor, during the summer months you can take sightseeing boat trips on the Greifswald Bodden and to the Baltic Sea resort of Baabe for a seal-spotting excursion, or visit the island of Vilm—once Honecker’s private retreat and now a unique nature reserve. At the harbor itself, restaurants and cafés cater to your culinary needs, and there’s also a bike and e-bike rental service with a charging station. Here, you can enjoy the sun on the large lawn by the water, read, plan further excursions, write home, take photos, and much more. Additional swimming spots are just a few minutes away from your apartment by bike or car. If you’d like to enjoy fresh seafood specialties and/or a nice cold beer, you’re in good hands aboard the smoking ship Berta, moored at the pier. As you relax in the fresh air with a view of the beautiful Bodden, you’re guaranteed to forget the drudgery of everyday life.
What else is there to discover?
The Putbus Castle Park is within walking distance of your apartment and a Garden of Eden for nature lovers. This historic park is one of the few remaining landscape parks in Northern Europe and a special attraction on the island of Rügen. Adjacent to the Putbus Castle Church is the large game reserve with a game restaurant. Visitors can see and even feed red deer and fallow deer in the open enclosure at any time. From the adjacent beer garden, which includes a children’s playground, you’ll always have a view of the does and stags. Well-marked hiking and biking trails run along the Greifswald Bodden and are also just a few minutes’ walk from your accommodation. The Goor forest area has a very special charm. Here you’ll also find the famous Goor bathhouse, built in 1817–18. The Goor itself captivates visitors with its ancient tree population. In the Goor Nature Reserve, you’ll also find the so-called “Path of Leisure and Insight”: This nature trail is 4.2 kilometers long and features 19 stations along its loop. There is also a nature guide on site who offers walks to explore wild and medicinal herbs, as well as guided tours of burial mounds and megalithic tombs.
In summary, the fantastic location and the modern, maritime, and luxurious amenities make this accommodation a wonderful place to stay for your vacation on the Baltic Sea island of Rügen, regardless of the season or weather.
