Bellows Mill

The host and family were great - really welcoming and helpful. The furnishings and beds were very comfortable. The building and grounds are breathtaking, worth going just for the uniqueness of the place. The facilities were great - pool table, table tennis, tennis court, gardens, and so peaceful. Did anyone mention there's an actual Mill in the building.

Check in wasn't explained very well - where to go and what to do on arrival (just say "knock on the door of the main building" would have been helpful). Its quirky and disjointed. The lighting isn't great - dark or very light. Not everything works the way you'd expect it to. All of us said there's something "creepy" about the experience - but that's what you should expect in a 17th Century property! We all felt like we didn't want to sleep there on day one, but really want to go back for some reason!

We loved the location and the extensive gardens. Rachael, the host, was very helpful and welcoming. We enjoyed the table tennis and trampoline and would have liked to use the tennis court if we had stayed longer.

This is an old and quirky property. We were delighted when we arrived as it’s so pretty with old mill equipment still inside and a lovely back garden. It’s super quiet and peaceful. The landlady was really friendly and helpful. Everywhere was clean and fine to use.

The cleaning levels were fine for me as I’m not fussed by the odd cobweb and accept old buildings are what they are but I have some friends that would have been put off with cobwebs and some of the corners here and there that maybe could have had a bit of a more thorough clean. The bedding was feather which I loved but also might not suit some with allergies.
