Solar Premium Hotel & Spa

Staff were extremely nice and helpful, couldn't do enough and their English was very good. The room was clean and nice with good wifi speeds. The breakfast was solid, very impressed with the price, hotel was smaller than expected but still felt like a quality hotel.

Pool could have been bigger/more accessible as well found it quite awkward to use. A modern 5 star hotel still requiring a % fee on using card is disappointing. I understand this is more common through Vietnam but if the hotel wants to be the very top level using card should not require a percentage fee onto the customer in 2026.

Victor the bellman was excellent. Henry was very helpful. The receptionist ladies didn't do much and I feel like they could help Victor more by getting the welcome drinks etc. Location was good, walking distance to the markets and train street.

Sad there is no food to order but Henry was helpful ordering pizza for us.

Just by happenstance, I wound up staying at 4 different hotels in Hanoi during recent my week plus trip. When searching for them, I was looking for the highest rated hotels at good prices, not necessarily the cheapest ones. The Solar Premium gave me that initial impression of of more luxury than I had expected for what I was paying. The room, bathroom, hallways, elevator, and lobby smelled like nothing - meaning just clean, not of unpleasant odors being inadequately masked by deodorizer. The room, bathroom, and furnishings were very nice, and the AC worked very well. Breakfast was good, with the pho making me want to slurp up the leftover soup and the cafe sua da being amongst the best I had over my trip. They had complimentary fruit in the room, the first time I had seen that. The front desk staff was superb, providing a thorough welcoming brief while serving drink and o mai. Our flight back to the US was late in the evening, but in addition to holding our luggage, when they learned of the late flight, the staff offered for me to take a shower in the spa facility, which was really, really appreciated. I would definitely try to stay there again.
