I simply cannot fault the accommodation. The hosts seem to have thought of and supplied everything anyone would want when self-catering.

Very comfortable apartment equipped to a high standard. The proprietors made us feel very welcome and provided everything we could possibly have needed. They also offer complementary green fees at the nearby Lochmaben Golf Club. Worth noting if you are a golfer!

The location is a little remote with access via some poorly maintained single track roads.

Very welcoming, away from the hustle and bustle, nice to venture out into the surrounding areas with no cameras watching your every move which can be stressful at times.

No real local pubs/restaurants within walking distance

We recently stayed at Applegarth House for 4 nights in the Stable cottage. The cottage has been restored to a very high standard and is beautifully decorated and furnished. The kitchen and the cottage in general are very well appointed. Lots of nice touches to make your stay comfortable. The location is ideal. Easy to get to however lovely and quiet with plenty of good walks from the front door. Our dog loved the trails and also the enclosed rear patio. Andrew and Kirsteen were wonderful hosts and we are looking forward to returning soon. First class.
