Bibi Cosy Cottage

I stayed at Bibi’s homestay during the Kilimanjaro Marathon, and overall it was such a memorable and heartwarming experience. Bibi is an incredibly kind, charming, and welcoming host, she really made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. We got in quite late, around 10pm, and she still had a delicious meal prepared for us, which was such a thoughtful touch after a long day. Breakfast was also beautifully prepared and very satisfying. I loved the homely feel of the place; she has fruit trees in her compound and even keeps chickens, which added to the authentic, local experience. The bed was comfortable, and the linen was clean, making it easy to rest well before the marathon.

On the downside, the bathroom and toilet are shared. This wasn’t a major issue for me, but I only found out after booking, so it would be helpful if that’s clearly stated upfront. The location is quite convenient — less than a 5-minute walk to the main road — though the path was muddy during our stay due to the rain, which made access a bit tricky. Also, it was indicated that there is Wi-Fi, but there wasn’t any available. That said, Bibi’s warmth and hospitality truly stood out and made the stay enjoyable. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a genuine, home-style experience.
