Summer House Magnetic Island

Everything was excellent.

Staff, location, super clean and tidy. Everything looks brand new. Bathroom is great! Free pankaces for breakfast

I had an amazing time visiting Summer House again! It’s such a friendly environment with clean and well-maintained facilities. It’s the perfect accommodation for a relaxing stay on the island for lower costs than a hotel or resort. It’s not a party hostel so it’s ideal for someone looking for more chill vibes. They always have fun events in the evenings so it’s easy to make friends. Alma Bay and Geoffrey Bay are walkable, as well as the grocery store near the harbour. Plus, there’s a dive shop close by in walking distance as well. I was also very grateful to stay in their private cabin, which was lovely and I highly recommend it! It was comfy, quiet, and with plenty of space for 1-2 people, even 3 if someone shares a bed. I definitely will stay at Summer House again when I visit Magnetic Island! :)

Perfect location, opposite Gregory Bay. Staff were amazing - welcoming, helpful and went out of their way to make the an enjoyable experience for everyone. Complimentary use of kayaks and snorkelling equipment was great, even more amazing was the staff willingness to assist guests to carry the kayaks to the beach. Complimentary pasta night and Sunday morning pancakes was a wonderful way to socialise with other guests. Complimentary guided walks to the wallabies, craft sessions and daily notice board of tide times were all really helpful. Well equipped kitchen, complimentary tea, coffee, salt and pepper

The quite expensive room with ensuite was only just big enough for one person, not three. There was no table or chair - only a double bed that was placed adjacent to a wall, and another single bed. There was no wardrobe, only a very flimsy hanging rack/shelf that wobbled under more than 1kg of weight. The 'fridge' was the smallest fridge I have ever seen. I had to remove the 2 shelves to store a 2 litre bottle of milk, some cheese and butter. It was approximately 30cms by 38cms. Insufficient outdoor lighting to the stairs leading from the back of the property to the glassed in pool area. I tripped twice, going up the stairs eventhough I was walking slowly and carefully. The dark wooden steps were simply invisible due to lack of lighting. The beautiful kitchen had no fly screens. In the middle of the day, when the sun beat into the kitchen, the flies were a problem
