Crested Butte, a short walk from the Crested Butte Mountain Resort lifts, with shops and dining right at the Red Lady Express base and the free town shuttle stopping steps away (it runs to town about every 15 minutes). Summer trails leave from the base, and a convenience store and coffee are close by. Historic downtown Crested Butte and its Elk Avenue — galleries, restaurants, and preserved Old West architecture — are about a seven-minute drive. The area is a year-round outdoor base: skiing and snowshoeing in winter; hiking, mountain biking, rafting, and wildflower season in summer. The Gunnison-Crested Butte Regional Airport (GUC) is about a 45-minute drive.
