The Neighborhood:

The Grand Lodge sits at the base of Mt. Crested Butte, a short walk from the Crested Butte Mountain Resort lifts, with the free town shuttle stop only a couple of minutes away. Historic downtown Crested Butte and its Elk Avenue — galleries, restaurants, and preserved Old West architecture — are about a seven-minute drive, with the free shuttle running between the mountain and town. The area is a year-round outdoor base: skiing and snowshoeing in winter; hiking, mountain biking, rafting, and wildflower season in summer. The Gunnison-Crested Butte Regional Airport (GUC) is about a 45-minute drive.

Getting Around:

You don't need a car here — the lifts, coffee, restaurants, and a convenience store are all within a short walk, and the free town shuttle stop is a couple of minutes away.
