Arana Rathna Ella Eco Lodge

We thought long and hard about whether to book this stay, as it was the most expensive one on our trip. However, it is much more than just a place to stay. Viraj is a wonderful person who makes you feel completely at ease. He told us that we would arrive as guests and leave as friends.. and that’s exactly how it felt. Our stay was already two weeks ago, and I still find myself thinking back on it often. I truly hope to be able to return to Viraj and his family someday. A small note about the food: fantastic. Most of it comes from their own garden and is prepared by two wonderful women. The meals were an experience in themselves and among the best we had in all of Sri Lanka.

This was a true authentic experience in a Sri Lankan village with a very hospitable and kind family. They really made our stay special, feeding us so much food and taking us to one of the most spectacular waterfalls Ive ever been to (and Ive been to a lot)! We only spent one night and wish we could have spent longer.
