Melby Apartment

The conservatory was lovely, as was the rest of the property. Well-stocked and fitted.

We really enjoyed our stay at Melby. It was like home away from home. The owner has gone to a lot of trouble to make the property incredibly welcoming and comfortable. We did not want to stay right in the middle of town, so the location was perfect for us. We could still walk to town if we wished, but it was a quiet oasis away from the touristy centre of town. The property boasts a fantastic glass conservatory, which proved to be a favourite with us for lunch or a warm place to sit after returning from a walk or one of our day trips. Fort William is a great place to stay if you want to walk up Ben Nevis, take a wild life cruise or drive to any number of other towns. It is also the place to connect with the Jacobite Steam Train experience.

Only one thing, which may have already been fixed - the front sliding door kept coming off the rail and was extremely difficult to use throughout our stay.

A very nice semi-detached property, well furnished and appointed. We enjoyed a comfortable two-night stay and could easily have stayed longer if our itinerary had allowed. The beds and pillows were comfortable and the large bathroom was good. I particularly liked the towels that were larger than those normally found in holiday accommodation - a nice luxurious touch. We brought some fresh seafood back from Oban, wonderful lobsters and scallops, to cook for dinner on our second night and we found everything we needed in the well equipped kitchen. We would definitely come back again.

We were asked to take any rubbish to the outdoor bins on departure, which is never a problem, but the bins were a bit of a trek away and across a neighbouring property. It would help to have them closer to the apartment.

Todo o espaço era muito confortável e acolhedor, a cama era ótima e tínhamos acesso a todos os equipamentos necessários na cozinha. Gostámos muito daquele canto à entrada para as refeições. Era muito acolhedor.

Não existia máquina da roupa ou louça. No nosso caso, foi super ok porque não precisámos, mas para quem fique mais dias, este pode ser um ponto. Este é também um detalhe, mas a disposição da mobília nos quartos não era tão favorável ao acesso às tomadas. De qualquer forma gerimos muito bem.
