We absolutely loved the apartment, it had everything we needed and more. It has a great layout and is situated in a nice fairly convenient location. It’s cosy, homely, and has tons of character! It was more than enough space for the three of us and it was clean and comfortable for everyone.

Collecting the key from quite a fair distance away having to leave my family in the town centre and meeting with them later all while it was after 10pm and we were exhausted after a long day, wasn’t the best start. We also didn’t like having to segregate and take out all the rubbish we had using an awkward method involving using a rubbish disposal Id card. Considering we paid for the cleaning this should be included in this. Not many toiletries included. the fridge is left empty and all electricity is turned off for your arrival.

The arrival process. The system to get the keys required us to get a taxi from the train station to the Abatare office in the modern part of Lucca to get the keys from a lock box, then walk 20 minutes to the apartment in the old city. If I had known this before I paid I would have found another apartment. Paying 68cent per kwh for electricity, twice as much as in Ireland. Being charged for linen, which should have been added to the advertised rental cost rather than a cash payment at the end.
