San Bartolomeo House

San Bartolomeo is an excellent location from which to explore Naples either on foot or by public transport, as it is very close to the Piazza Municipio Metro and several bus stops. It is also less than 10 mins walk to the Porta Massa Alibus stop to the airport. Access to the apartment was very easy, via a lockbox on the external gates of the apartment block. There is another locked gate and then a flight of the steps to the apartment, so the whole area feels very secure. It is newly refurbished to a high standard with a well equipped kitchen (although there is no oven), plenty of kitchen utensils and even a panini press. The walk in shower is spacious with good hot water pressure and the bath towels are extra large and very soft. The bed is a very large king size with a firm mattress and two large pillows each. The lighting is exceptional with additional low level LED lighting around the bedroom and kitchen which was unusual but a lovely touch. The bedroom and kitchen both have very good air conditioning units. The apartment was very quiet in the evening and if you open the french windows you can hear the locals going about their daily life in the other apartments. The host Adrienne was very helpful and quick to respond to any requests via WhatsApp. San Bartolomeo was a welcoming and modern sanctuary from the wonderfully vibrant, though sometimes overwhelming city of Naples and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and well equipped apartment in the heart of Naples.

The only things that could be improved are the wifi bandwidth which was not great, but did not negatively affect us, and maybe the addition of an oven for those of us who love to cook. But these are minor compared to how lovely the apartment is overall.
