About this apartment rental

A freshly renovated, water-facing two-bedroom apartment on iconic Princes Wharf Shed 22 — harbour and marina views, two private bathrooms, an open-plan living area with sliding doors and Smart TV, and a beautifully presented interior throughout. A consistent Guest Favourite, always loved and well-reviewed. The Ferry Terminal, Viaduct, and Commercial Bay are all minutes on foot. Scenic waterfront walkway right outside the door. A genuinely well-loved Princes Wharf retreat.

This is one of those apartments that earns its Guest Favourite status through the quiet accumulation of well-made decisions rather than a single dramatic feature. Recently renovated from top to bottom, it is now one of the freshest, most thoughtfully presented apartments on the wharf — soft tones, natural light from large windows and sliding doors, and a clean, comfortable interior that feels genuinely inviting from the moment you walk in. The water-facing position means the harbour and marina sit directly in view from the living area, and on a clear Auckland day the outlook is everything you`d hope for from a Princes Wharf address.

The open-plan kitchen, living, and dining area flows naturally, with the sliding doors drawing the harbour atmosphere inside and a Smart TV for evenings in. The kitchen is well equipped for self-catering — modern appliances and everything you need for proper cooking or easy casual meals. Both bedrooms have comfortable queen beds with quality linen and soft furnishings, and having two separate bathrooms — both freshly renovated — means the apartment works genuinely well for two couples or a family of four without any compromise on practicality.

Guests consistently highlight the harbour and marina views, the scenic waterfront character of the location, and the ease of walking to everything from here. The wharf`s promenade is right outside the apartment, and the rest of Auckland`s waterfront unfolds from it in both directions — it is a genuinely walkable, beautiful base for exploring the city.

Princes Wharf has been part of Auckland`s story since 1929, when it was formally opened by Earl Jellicoe as a two-storey concrete wharf — at the time, an engineering first for the city. For decades it was Auckland`s window to the world: cargo ships from Britain, Asia, and South America, ocean liners bringing emigrants and returning servicemen, and during the Second World War, a working base for United States forces supporting the Pacific campaign. For generations of Aucklanders, this was the place you came to farewell someone leaving for the other side of the world — or to welcome them home.

In 1998, a major redevelopment designed by Leuschke Group Architects transformed the wharf while preserving its long concrete bones — six interconnected heritage shed buildings, including Shed 22, now house apartments, restaurants, and retail above what was once a working cargo dock. Today the wharf is one of the city`s most recognisable destinations, with the five-star Hilton Auckland anchoring the seaward end and free public viewing decks at the tip offering some of the most serene harbour vantage points in the city, with sightlines stretching to Rangitoto Island and the Hauraki Gulf.

The entire apartment is yours — both bedrooms, both bathrooms, the kitchen, open-plan living and dining area, and the water-facing outlook with harbour and marina views

Check-in is from 3:00 PM. Access is via key safe — straightforward and available at any hour. Full instructions will be sent the day before your arrival. Early check-in can often be accommodated subject to availability — please enquire at booking.

While we will leave you in peace to enjoy your time in Auckland, we are available 24 hours a day for an emergency.

For those non-urgent like-to-haves, just give us a call or a quick message and we will do everything we can to make this your most memorable trip to Auckland yet.

Princes Wharf itself is a dining destination in its own right. Somm offers serious wine tasting alongside its menu, Wahlburgers brings its famous family-recipe burgers right to the water`s edge, and a string of waterfront restaurants serve everything from long, unhurried harbour-view lunches to special-occasion fine dining with fireplaces and sweeping outdoor terraces. The wharf`s iconic promenade — part of the scenic coastal walkway guests consistently highlight — runs the full length of the wharf and connects to the wider Auckland waterfront in both directions.

The Viaduct Harbour`s celebrated restaurant and bar strip is a five-minute walk, with Baduzzi, Hello Beasty, Giraffe, and an excellent selection of bars and wine rooms. Commercial Bay`s flagship retail and dining complex and Britomart`s cobblestoned laneway precinct are both within easy reach. The New Zealand Maritime Museum sits right at the base of the wharf, and the Auckland Ferry Terminal is close by with daily services to Waiheke Island, Devonport, and the Hauraki Gulf. Wynyard Quarter and North Wharf are an easy waterfront stroll west.

Auckland is easily explored from Princes Wharf. The Auckland Ferry Terminal is a short walk with regular services to Waiheke Island, Devonport, and the Hauraki Gulf. Britomart Transport Centre connects the full train network. Uber and taxis are plentiful throughout the waterfront precinct. There is no car park with this apartment — paid public parking is available nearby in the Viaduct and CBD. Auckland Airport is approximately 30 to 40 minutes by car or shuttle.

A complimentary starter pack is provided on arrival — a small selection of tea, coffee, milk, and bathroom essentials to get you settled comfortably from the moment you arrive. Supermarkets and convenience stores are nearby for any additional supplies you need during your stay.

Weekly and monthly discount rates are available and apply automatically to longer stays.

A private airport transfer can be arranged at additional cost — please get in touch at least 48 hours before your arrival and we will organise it for you.

To ensure a smooth arrival, we ask all guests to complete a short online pre-check-in form and upload a valid government-issued photo ID before arriving — this takes just a couple of minutes.

This is a non-smoking, no-vaping property throughout — including balconies and all common areas. No parties or events. Quiet hours from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Check-in is from 3:00 PM and checkout is by 10:00 AM.

Please note that views and access may occasionally be affected when cruise ships are docked at the wharf — this is managed by the Ports of Auckland and outside our control, but we will always let you know in advance if we are aware of any disruption during your stay.
We kindly ask all guests to help us maintain the peaceful, high-standard environment of this home by following a few simple rules:

A valid photo ID, email address, and phone number are required prior to check-in.

Please respect our no-party policy and observe quiet hours from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

Smoking, vaping, or drug use is not permitted inside the suite or anywhere in the apartment, building, complex or balcony.

In the rare case of a noise complaint or evidence of smoking, an additional fee of up to NZD $500 may apply.

Check in available after 3pm through lock box key collection. Lock boxes are located a short distance away, full details will be sent prior to arrival. We advise collecting the keys on your way to the apartment, if coming to the city via taxi or UBER, ask the taxi to wait a second while you collect the key. The walk to the apartment from the lock box is not far, but no one wants to walk in the city with suitcases!

These measures ensure that every guest enjoys a serene, premium experience — thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
