I would not recommend “Romantic Getaways” — mainly because it doesn’t appear to exist at all. Getting there was a complete nightmare. The address and name of the place didn’t match anything in real life, even though this was the exact information provided through the booking site. Being in a foreign country with incorrect details immediately made the situation stressful and uncomfortable. I even went to a nearby hotel to ask about “Romantic Getaways,” and no one had ever heard of it. The only correct piece of information turned out to be the phone number. After calling, I was told the actual location was about a 20-minute walk away. Considering we had already spent money getting dropped off in the middle of nowhere, that was incredibly frustrating—especially in 103-degree heat. When I asked if they could arrange transportation, I was told they couldn’t. We were lucky to find a taxi nearby, though the driver attempted to overcharge us. We were eventually taken to a place called “Blue Home Hotel,” which was never mentioned anywhere in the reservation. That alone made the whole situation feel misleading and poorly managed. To their credit, the staff member at the hotel did notice how frustrated I was and kindly allowed us to check in early at no extra cost. However, the issues didn’t stop there. The elevator is extremely small and outdated, and it stops operating at 8 PM—after that, you’re forced to use steep stairs, which is a major inconvenience, especially for older guests or anyone with mobility concerns. On top of that, it was Laos New Year, so loud music went on all night, making it difficult to rest. There was also no breakfast provided, despite expectations set during booking. Overall, this experience felt disorganized and misleading from start to finish. Between the incorrect location details, transportation issues, and lack of basic amenities, it’s not something I would go through again.

Already from the lobby you can understand how this structure is completely different from all the others, ancient and modern. It has its own personality that is reflected in the furnishings, especially in the room: beautiful, elegant, very well cared for: and then spacious, welcoming, comfortable. Plus it has a fantastic view of the religious complex across the street. Far from negligible, the cleanliness is almost maniacal. The staff is absolutely helpful and friendly, and speaks excellent english I recommend it
