Hanok Stay POONGSONGJAE Andong 풍송재

On y a passé qu'une nuit et on a eu un peu de regret. On est arrivée tard mais le propriétaire est sorti pour nous accueillir avec gentillesse. Le lendemain on partait très tôt car on avait 3h de route et un véhicule à rendre donc impossible de lui dire aurevoir mais il nous a laissé un message auquel j'ai répondu. On a pu apprécié le magnifique jardin ainsi que le calme du matin et la rosée

The place was squeaky clean and had everything needed. The owner was friendly and helped in navigating the nearby area.

Very friendly owner and a peaceful location. The sites around Andong are quite spread out so it is best to take taxis or to drive. The Hanol is close to the village which is one of the primary sites in the area.

We stayed here for one night and had mixed feelings about the experience. On the positive side, the Hanok itself is very beautiful, with a lovely traditional house and a nice courtyard. The property was clean and well maintained. The bathroom was modern, with a bidet toilet and good water pressure. However, there were several issues. The location is around 25 km from Andong, so having a car is almost essential. The surrounding area itself is not particularly impressive.

Communication was possible through Booking.com, but replies sometimes took a while. We had also contacted the property the day before our arrival to let them know what time we would arrive. Despite this, when we arrived there were no check-in instructions or access code waiting for us. We had to rely on other Korean guests, who kindly called the owners for us. The owners gave them the code to our room, meaning that the access code was shared with people we did not know. Some time later, the same instructions and codes were finally sent to us directly through Booking.com. We never met or saw the owners during our stay. The kitchen was also very messy and unfortunately not a place we felt comfortable using. Overall, we would rate this stay 4 out of 5. The property itself is beautiful and has potential, but considering the price, we expected a better level of service, organisation and comfort.
