Cotswold Retreat

A lovely wee gem, beautifully set up with everything we needed for our 4 night stay. A handy location for most amenities.

The traffic noise, and the current challenging roadworks around the area making it less than straightforward to get around. Not the fault of the property though, just an annoying inconvenience.

Staying at the Cotswold Retreat was more like staying in our own home than for example a standard motel. Communication with Liz is warm and clear, the decor is very pleasant with good choices made all round, rather than the sea of white you normally find, it has a wonderful homely feel. The unit is spacious and has much more than we expected, a large smart tv, heat pumps already running to take the chill away, and even a wood-burner set up ready to light. The kitchen area is very well set up with a hob if needed and a great little toaster-oven. There is an abundance of crockery in tasteful patterns and a good set of knives and other large cutlery items. In the bathroom again everything is provided with a good shower, heated mirror etc. We intend to stay there again in future.

It's by a very busy road which can be a bit noisy in the early morning. I thought I might need to use the earplugs - even these are thoughtfully supplied - but I found that it didn't trouble me after the first night. I think if you're overtired on arrival after travel I'd recommend using earplugs the first night at least.

Super cosy, spacioua, warm, and beautifully done up. The little kitchen was well stocked. I was in the bedroom, with a comfy nice bed. Teenager was on the sofa bed, and I didnt hear any complaints. The location waa good too. Super close to a shopping centre, and a bus line.

Teenager was a bit shaken by the lack of WiFi, but he didnt die.
