Cheap and cheerful. Easy access to key and room. Location ideal for people doing the UK ferry thing. On street parking directly outside.

The mesh over the window was broken so in the extraordinary heat and needing to have the window open, I got bitten quite badly. There was an adequate fan there however. No glass for a drink - had to go downstairs to the small kitchen area at the foot of the stairs. Tried endlessly to get the WiFi code to work including messaging the owner who duly replied suggesting I re-input the exact same code. Kept trying and trying and finally got it to work close to midnight when it was sleep time anyway.

This was a handy place to stay for the night as it is only a thirteen minute drive to the ferry port. We did have the use of a kettle which was useful and a microwave if we needed it, these were located in the hallway downstairs. Parking is quite horrendous in a one way street with vehicles nose to tail but we managed to get a space. The host was supposed to have called me with instructions for getting in but I ended up messaging them for the code. They messaged me again after we were in the room to explain which key safe to use. I messaged back saying we were already in the room and I said it wasn't the room I booked as it was advertised as having a private bathroom. There was a shower cubicle in the corner of the room, a toilet next to it and a small hand basin next to that with a small section of wall about a metre high separating the toilet and hand basin. How can that be a private bathroom when there is more than one person in the room? The hand basin was not even connected to the hot water. We went for something to eat and over a twenty minute period the host messaged me nine time. I didn't read the messages until I got back to the room. These messages were rude and abusive insinuating that I was trying to get a refund. I messaged back saying I did not expect a refund and I was just pointing out that it was not a private bathroom as advertised. The host then messaged me eleven times in five minutes. I ignored the messages and didn't read them until I'd left the property. This was appalling behaviour from the host and I felt threatened. This place could have the potential of being really nice if issues were sorted out. It wouldn't take much to put in a partition wall and door to create a private bathroom. In the UK using a toilet is a private matter and people are not comfortable being watched. It is also unhygienic having a toilet stuck in the middle of a room where people are drinking coffee.

I didn't like the fact that I had put private bathroom in the filter and it was not a private bathroom as advertised. Also the disgusting attitude of the host was unbelievable.
