The cottage was spacious, very clean and tidy, stylishly decorated and in a great location for exploring that part of Northumberland. The hosts were super helpful and very responsive to questions. We were also left a very gorgeous welcome pack which was very much appreciated. Cottage was easy to find and a very short drive from a Co-op. Parking wasn't an issue at all.
We totally loved our time at the cottage. If I had to say anything, it was that there wasn't any teabags and coffee but we always bring some so wasn't an issue at all.

Stayed here just last weekend, and this is my honest review as a family group of 5 adults and 2 young children. The Cottage is in a great location just off the A1 road, the right turning is hidden but you'll see a petrol station as you near on maps and your right turning slip road is just before this. Turning onto the B1341 road you then want to make sure you drive just a little after where google maps tells you to stop passed lucker road turn off and a cottage, where you should then see 2 signs on your right and a small open gateway leading onto the property. We did experience difficulties locating the right cottage once on site, more so as it was dark when we checked in but between 3 adults this was soon found. Anemnties/facilities were just as described and as per pictures, with a nice unexpected but welcome bonus of a care package of sweets and drinks upon arrival. Communication with owners prior to arrival was flawless, were very much accomodating when we asked to check out by 11am instead of 10am (which when dealing with 5 adults + 2 young children all trying to get ready and bags packed made all the difference haha). Board games provided (cludo, scrabble and monopoly) make for great evening entertainment, though game pieces mixed up between the boxes. Plenty of space throughout the cottage, with a lovely fireplace in the living room. Just a warning for anyone looking to book though upon entry to the property be mindful of a step up into the porperty and another mild step up immediately after crossing the doorway, as we almost stumbled on this but again minor issue as long as you know what to look for. Beds were really comfy, and huge!! being used to a double the super kings were like luxury haha. Due to word limit I will summarise here in light of what I wrote in 'what didn't you like' section, that this is more of a summer cottage/home stay when weather is warmer, not suitable for all year round unless heating issue can be fixed.
I hope this will be taken on board as constructive feedback by the owners, but one major issue with this property is heat retention. I know the owners ask that the heating is not kept on overnight and on 21 degrees, but when you lock the heating system so it goes off on its own around 8/9pm anyway this doesn't help in a cottage that does not retain heat. Both nights unless you were tucked under your duvets was very cold due to lack of heating and the cottage walls do not retain heat/are cold to the touch (a clear indication there is no insulation in the walls). We tried to turn heating on to keep cottage warm but could not for the life of us figure the system out. It worked fine during the day, but passed around 8pm I think it was at night a lock symbol on the reader would appear and the heating would just cut out. Aything passed that point meant dealing with a cold cottage. Even with the kindling graciously provided we still needed to go to the local petrol station to buy a bag of logs costing £9+, as kindling alone does not keep a fire going. Another issue was the upstairs bathroom; ran the bathtub saturday night, but after a while water released from the hot tap went cold for several minutes, leaving myself to run 3 x kettles full of boiling water from kitchen to upstairs to try and get a warm bath run for my young nieces. Though the water eventually went warm again, we're not sure what caused this. The sofa bed whilst bedding for this was located in the trunk of the bedroom as described, no sheets provided for the 2 seperate mattresses that make up this bed (it is not a true double sofa bed, really more of a twin because the pull out mattress sits below the level of the sofa), and one if not both pillows missing pillow cases. Minor road noise experienced myself trying to sleep in the twin room, but once alseep was not heard. Lastly webs/dust located just behind living room tv, but otherwise cleanliness wise property was spotless.
