NEST in pongwe

- Super freundliches Personal, wenn man eine Rückfrage oder einen speziellen Wunsch hatte haben sie alles versucht um ihn zu erfüllen - sehr ruhig, wenig Tourismus - Restaurant direkt anschließend an das Gebäude - fantastischer Blick auf den Strand und das Meer!! (Vor allem, wenn das Wasser da ist) - Zimmer sind geschmackvoll eingerichtet und sehr groß, man fühlt sich direkt wohl

- die Unterkunft liegt an einem Wohnviertel ohne Restaurants/Bars/Geschäften/Ausflüge - für uns war das super weil wir ein paar Tage abseits des Tourismus sein wollten, man muss es aber natürlich mögen

This place is absolutely beautiful and even better than the photos. With only a few rooms, it feels incredibly calm and exclusive — like having your own private beach house in Zanzibar. The design is stunning: clean white walls, natural floors, wooden beams, handcrafted furniture, and soft neutral tones everywhere. The rooms are extremely spacious, bright, and airy, with extremely comfortable beds and thoughtful details throughout. The open-plan bathroom is gorgeous — modern, minimal, and perfectly in harmony with the overall style. Outside, the pool overlooking the ocean is a highlight. Swimming while looking out at the turquoise water and endless horizon is unforgettable, especially at sunset. The beachfront terrace with loungers is perfect for relaxing, reading, or just doing nothing at all. The location in Pongwe is quiet and unspoiled, ideal if you’re looking for peace and authenticity rather than crowds. Waking up to the sound of the ocean and palm trees is pure magic. Everything is spotless and very well maintained, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming without feeling busy or intrusive. If you love boutique hotels with character, beautiful design, and a relaxed luxury feel, this place is a real gem. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it.

Almost two weeks at The Nest in Pongwe and it was one of our best holidays. The location is perfect for relaxation, peace, and feeling safe, while still allowing you to experience the authentic side of Zanzibar. Cleanliness is excellent, the rooms are well maintained, and all of them have an ocean view, which is a big plus. The Infinity pool is beautiful and ideal for relaxing moments, overseeing the ocean. The food is very good, and the staff is extremely friendly, welcoming, and helpful, especialy Stephan the Chief of staff. He provided great recommendations for local attractions such as the Spice Farm and the Stone Town tour, and also helped organize excursions, including an unforgettable Mikumi Safari. The airport transfer was well organized by Stephan. Overall, The Nest in Pongwe is a wonderful choice for couples looking for a relaxing and intimate stay. We highly recommend it and would happily return. Excellent value for money!

There were a few short power outages in all village/resorts but they were resolved in minutes thanks to the generator.
