About this cabin rental

Leaf season is when this ridge shows off. Claim a front-row cabin for four (dogs welcome) with a hot tub facing the valley, a wood stove, and a fire pit under genuinely dark skies. Luray Caverns is about 20 minutes, Skyline Drive's Thornton Gap entrance is just past Luray, and D.C. is under two hours. Peak color runs mid-October into early November and those weekends go first. Pick your dates while the good ones are still open.

A modern cabin on 3 secluded acres, built for the weeks when the Shenandoah Valley turns gold.

- Smokeless SoloStove fire pit under dark mountain skies
- Deck with alfresco dining, full-size grill, and the sunset
- Dogs are welcome, with 3 acres to sniff

FALL, SPECIFICALLY
Peak color in the valley usually runs mid-October into early November. Skyline Drive and Shenandoah National Park are a short drive past Luray at the Thornton Gap entrance, and the overlooks are the reason people make the trip. Come back cold, get in the hot tub, light the stove. Luray Caverns stays 54 degrees year-round and is the reliable rainy-day plan.

GETTING HERE
New Market, VA. Shenandoah Caverns 14 minutes, New Market Battlefield 11, Luray Caverns about 20, Massanutten Resort 37, and Washington D.C. under two hours. The last stretch is gravel and hilly; take it slow, and a bit of clearance helps in wet weather.

GOOD TO KNOW
Rural water pressure is what it is. No smoking, no events, and quiet hours are 10 PM to 7 AM, out of respect for the neighbors and the quiet you came for.

Please drive slowly on the gravel roads (speed limit is 20 mph), especially in bad weather. 4WD is recommended when there is snow or heavy rain.

Before your stay, you'll complete a quick online check-in with a signed rental agreement and ID verification, to keep every stay safe and to confirm who is staying. A refundable security hold or an optional damage waiver is set up in your guest portal at online check-in. We use SuiteOp for this: no account or app download needed. Your guest portal also has everything about the home and our favorite local spots.

The property was exactly as advertised and my wife and I enjoyed our 3-night stay. The property was clean and well equipped with everything we needed. The road that the property is on is a very bumpy and hilly gravel road, which was no problem for us, but if one was to visit during the winter without 4-wheel drive, I could see that being difficult. If we ever find ourselves in the area another time, we would definitely stay here again if the property was available.
