Our family had an absolutely flawless stay here—an easy 12 out of 10! Roxane was the perfect host. Being perfectly fluent in English, she was a lifesaver for us since we don't speak Chinese and are new to traveling in China. She was incredibly responsive even before we arrived. The guesthouse itself is a beautifully and tastefully decorated historical building that truly elevated our Lijiang experience. For the next two days, Roxane arranged for us to stay at her other property, the Ripplewood Sanctum. It’s just steps from the city center yet manages to feel remarkably quiet, serene, and local. If you love historic charm and courtyards, choose the first place. If you prefer modern interiors with more private experience, choose Ripplewood Sanctum (or do what we did and try both!). The homemade meals were another highlight—so delicious, savory, and healthy that we couldn't stop eating even when full. I miss it even as I write this review. Huge thanks to Roxane for making our family trip so unforgettable (and auntie for dinners and breakfasts!). We will definitely be back! 너무너무너무너무 좋았던 완벽했던 숙소였습니다. 호스트님...저의 구원자ㅠㅠㅠ 저희 가족은 중국어를 못하고ㅠ 중국 여행에도 익숙하지 않아 어려운 일들이 많았는데, 영어를 완벽하게 구사하셔서 너무 다행이었고 너무나도 친절하게 모든 저희의 질문/요청사항에 신속하게 대응해 주셨습니다. 셋째 날부터는 호스트님이 운영하는 다른 숙소인 Ripplewood Sanctum에서 이틀을 보냈는데 시내 중심가와 정말 가까운데 신기할 정도로 고즈넉하고, 관광지인 리장 고성 안에서 드물게 사람 사는 느낌이 나는 곳이었습니다. 삼안정에서 야채 씻어가는 마을 사람들, 학교 끝나고 우르르 하교하는 아이들이 기억나네요. 고풍스러운 옛 건물, 중정을 즐기고 싶다면 첫 번째 숙소를, 모던한 인테리어/최신 시설이 더 중요하시면 두 번째 숙소를 조금 더 추천하는데 어차피 가깝고 짐도 옮겨 주시니 리장에서 며칠 묵으시는 분이라면 두 곳 모두 경험해 보시는 것도 좋을 것 같습니다. 그리고 석식 조식은 꼭 드시길..특히 석식은 하루라도 꼭 드셔보세요. 호스트님이 아시는 어머님 중 요리 정말 잘하시는 분을 섭외하셔서 석식을 막 시작하셨었는데, 정말 너무 맛있었습니다. 자극적이지도 않고 건강한 맛인데 정말 맛있어요 배불러배불러 하면서도 계속 먹게되는..리뷰 쓰면서도 생각나네요. 나중에 리장에 다시 오게 되면 최우선순위로 올 곳입니다. 진심으로 추천해요.
