I booked Excelsior Hotel 2 months in advance for the last night of my 8-day Dolomites Alta Via 2 trek.
Arriving exhausted at 5:30 PM, I was shocked to hear they were fully booked and had to transfer me to Majestic Hotel (100m away) under "same half-board conditions."
When I checked in at Majestic,
they told me dinner was NOT included and I had to walk back to Excelsior to eat.
Majestic only provided the room—the utter lack of communication and poor service was deeply frustrating.
When I went back to Excelsior for dinner, there was no apology, and the meal quality was very poor compared to other hotels.
If overbooked, they or Agoda should have notified me in advance so I could choose another hotel.
This ruined the final night of my 10-day trip.
Highly NOT recommended.
