Very quirky hotel, all the staff were very friendly and extremely personable. The free cream tea was a lovely surprise - delicious scones. We weren't able to partake fully with breakfast as we needed to leave early but fully enjoyed what we had.
It took a bit of getting used to the subdued lighting in our room (converted stable block?) and was just conscious of stepping in and out of the bath for a shower as there was nothing to hold onto. Very minor points really...

Great location. Food is great. Wine selection very good. Lovely bar and lounge area.
Rooms are tired. Bathrooms need updated. Dining room has an awkward atmosphere. Some staff are rude and miserable.
