The Painters Cottage

A friendly and welcoming cottage, a friendly and welcoming host. Exactly what we wanted!

The location was great it felt like a home from home. Angie the owner was really helpful and left us a lovely welcome pack including treats for our dog Tilly

It was a bit of a struggle to keep the house cool in the exceptionally hot weather but it didn’t put us off and we would stay again

The cottage is in the middle of the old part of the village and within a very easy walk to all the local shops, pubs and takeaways you could need without even leaving Heckington! (Rubys Plaice fish and chips are excellent) We visited the Woodhall Spa County show at weekend. Woodhall Spa itself is well worth a mooch around. We needed the heating on a bit because the typical UK weather decided to be unseasonably chilly and it warmed the cottage very well. All the beds were confortable with plenty of pillows and extra throws if needed. The cottage was comfortable and well equiped with everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The welcome pack was generous and 'very' welcome because we arrived with none of our own, so the kettle went straight on! A thoroughly good long weekend, a lovely cottage and a lovely host - thank you.

Thé cottage is in a pretty setting with a lovely garden with sheltered outside eating areas and a lovely view of the church spire and the big Lincolnshire skies. Its an exceptionally cosy place, with very comfortable beds and a snuggly sofa in the sitting room. The sunny kitchen has everything you could need and is spotlessly clean. The cottage feels like it has been a much loved home. The hosts obviously take a huge amount of care, leaving bread, butter, biscuits and other essentials so you can relax with a tea, coffee and snacks as soon as you arrive. This feels very welcoming. The cottage is a perfect place to relax and the host is incredibly kind and helpful.
