Kedros Lux Apt

It’s a beautifully decorated apartment with comfortable, soothing lighting in all spaces (in terms of lighting, it ranks as one of the best accommodations we have stayed in.) The location is ideal — right in the heart of Ioannina with shops, cafes and restaurants steps from the front door, and several grocery stores within short walking distance. Major attractions also are in easy walking distance. The apartment has plenty of storage space, a shower with excellent water pressure (and no leakage on the bathroom floor), and a well-equipped kitchen. The en-suite clothes washer was a welcome feature for us, since we were on an extended vacation. Communication with the host was excellent. The host provided helpful information about restaurants and area attractions, and always responded promptly to text messages.

There were some small issues from our personal perspective that might not be a concern for most other guests. The kitchen had nearly everything we needed for meal preparation, but lacked a cutting board and large knife for cutting bread and meat. Though the bed was comfortable, we found the mattress platform was too large for the bedroom, and we both repeatedly banged our shins against the platform corners while moving around the room. There is a balcony with two chairs and a bistro table, but it faces a concrete wall — not a particularly pleasant view (though this may not bother many people). It does receive sunshine in afternoon, so it’s an ok spot to enjoy a coffee at that time of day. And just a note about building access: there is an elevator, but you have to climb three steps from the street to enter the lobby, and another 9 to reach the elevator. This could be a challenge for people with mobility issues or heavy luggage. If you prefer walking stairs to taking the elevator all the time, beware that the stairwell has virtually no lighting, and it’s difficult to see the stairs.

The apartment is stunningly renovated with a very high aesthetic, providing the combined feeling of a luxury hotel suite with the comfort of a home. The location is ideal, just steps away from the best cafes and shops, and only a short walk to the Castle and the lake. Despite being so central, the soundproofing is excellent, making it a very peaceful stay. We also found the parking situation very convenient, as there are both private garages and municipal lots within a 5' walk. The kitchen is fully equipped, and the WiFi was stable and reliable for our entire stay (perfectly sufficient for remote work and home office tasks). Highly recommend for anyone wanting a stylish, central base in Ioannina. Special thanks to the host for the excellent communication, all the information provided, and for thinking of every detail to make guests feel welcome. Definitely a recommended place to stay!
