About this house rental

Summary:
Make this nicely done-up Spanish Revival home yours during your Palo Alto visit. Enjoy being in the heart of Palo Alto's classic Professorville neighborhood by entertaining in the back yard, relaxing in one of the inside living spaces, or contemplating nature in the primary bedroom's window seat. The kitchen is fully stocked for all your cooking needs, and the comfy beds await your tired body!

The Space:
Welcome to this classic Palo Alto home, located in the equally classic Palo Alto neighborhood of Professorville, so named because, given its proximity to Stanford University, many Stanford have lived here! Built a century ago in the Spanish Revival style, this home, like many in Palo Alto, has had several remodels to give it a bright, contemporary feel on the inside.

There are many high points to appreciate about this place, starting with the front living area with its understated, comfortable vibe and simple yet elegant furniture. A big window overlooks the front lawn.

The next room over is the dining room, anchored by a wooden dining table with matching chairs. This room has glass doors opening to the side yard.

Beyond the dining room is the kitchen, which has ample counter and storage space, modern appliances, and all the cookware you would need to make an amazing meal. One of the counters is perfect as a breakfast table and has stools for seating.

The kitchen spills into the family room, allowing for entertaining while cooking. The family room has comfy seating, again with understated yet elegant furniture.

Continuing on the original theme of "classic" ... the back yard is made for entertaining, with easy access to the family room, a patio and large table and chairs, plus an umbrella. Evenings can cool off here, so the back yard heater often comes in useful.

Back inside the home, the primary bedroom has a queen-sized bed plus drawers and closet space and a window nook with seating. Note that the owners keep some of their possessions in a locked closet space, but there is plenty of additional closet space for guests. The primary bedroom has its own private en-suite bathroom with a glass-enclosed shower.

Bedroom two has a queen-sized bed and currently doubles as an office, with a work table and chair. Some of the owners' instruments adorn this room, but we ask that guests not use them.

The third and final bedroom also has a queen-sized bed and is decorated with sports and music memorabilia -- a testament to the young college kid who calls this place home during the summers! (Keep in mind, the owners occupy this home about 9 months of the year, but they make it available to guests when they travel.)

The common area bathroom has a shower and tub.

There is so much to love about this place; book it now and make it your home during your Palo Alto visit!

Guest Access:
You will have complete and exclusive access to the entire property. The owners will be absent during your stay.

The Neighborhood:
The neighborhood is called "Professorville" because of how many Stanford academics have lived here over the years. You can expect tree-lined streets and a variety of older and newer homes with a variety of architectural styles ranging from Spanish Revival (this home) to Craftsman to various Colonial styles.

Getting Around:
Public transit in this part of Silicon Valley isn't great, so you'll need either a car or count on Uber or Lyft. That said, some guests rent bikes and avail themselves of the dozens of miles of bike-friendly roads and trails in the area; a favorite of many is biking through the expansive campus of nearby Stanford University!

Interaction with Guests:
The owners will be gone during your visit, so you will have complete privacy. The property manager lives 15 minutes away and is available for any questions.
