Grand Southsea Khaolak Beach Resort

Do not stay here. Issues experienced during our stay • Breakfast was not included, despite us believing we had paid for accommodation with breakfast included. This was disappointing and unclear at booking and check in. • Water frequently did not run at all in the rooms. • When water was available, there was little to no water pressure, making showering and basic hygiene difficult. • Toilets often would not flush. • When toilets did flush, they regularly blocked, creating unhygienic and distressing conditions. • Room key cards consistently failed to work throughout the entire stay, repeatedly locking us out of our rooms. • Staff would reset one key card, only for the other cards assigned to the same room to stop working, meaning the issue was never properly resolved. • There was a strong and persistent smell of sewage in and around the rooms. • Bedside lamps in each room would not turn off at all, impacting sleep and comfort. • At checkout, the hotel attempted to charge us for minibar items that were never used, totalling approximately 1500 baht across four rooms. • Management verbally agreed to refund one night for all four rooms and instructed us to process this through Hotels.com, however the hotel has since ignored all refund requests and follow ups from Hotels.com. • After checkout, communication and accountability completely stopped, continuing the poor service well beyond our stay.

Good experience in this hotel close to the beach Good staff Good place

Staff were very warm, checkin and out were efficient. Facilities more than adequate - pool, gym, restaurant, bar, ktv, beach chairs, guarded parking etc. Room was large, clean and comfy as well. Just 1 quirk... The toilet door badly needs fixing, it can't close tightly and it's extremely hard to slide ooen/close.

The hotel and its staff were truly accommodating. With it being the low season and many hotels in the vicinity closing for the rain, The Grand Southsea welcomed us with open arms, there were not many guests but this meant we had the luck of having the staff be extremely attentive. The Thai culture is very warming already and this extra care made us even more happier with the choice of hotel. The food in the hotel was very good, we tried all sorts of Thai dishes every day and breakfast was included with a wide range with as much as you like, all freshly made on order. Teas and coffees along with fruit and bottled water was available in your room every day and the changeover service was second to none with the amazing house cleaning team even helping dry our wet swimwear when we had to rush out for our next trip. The location is great however it is a 10 minute drive to the centre of the main road but the beach is across from the hotel and has a fantastic sunset view with sand and old coral. The restaurants nearby are very true local Thai places and they are all very happy to have you stay. The pool in the hotel is very nice and with jet powered spa area and infinite drop on the edge of the pool. Cocktails in the hotel are fairly priced but you may need to explain in Thai how you would like it as there are differences in cultures and how things are served but still fantastic. 5 stars for sure and will definitely head back in their summer! We were told we had to pay for breakfast (550 baht per person, each day) even though it was clearly indicated on our reservation papers breakfast was included. It took two days to sort and we had to call hotels.com for help. Once sorted, all was ok.

Relaxing hotel with a lovely beach. Location was not ideal but the resort was nice

Booked a premier garden sea view room was given a room full of Mosquitos and bottom floor wasn't happy so was given a first floor room and room was 100 times better but there is a bad odours in both rooms maybe it's the wood or dampness but it isn't pleasant. Only stayed one night and to be honest I wouldn't stay again there's big trees blocking the sea view and hotel itself doesn't seem well maintained to be honest and very quite.

Overall is ok but breakfast is not various of choice. Hotel area is locating at prakarang beach where is less of people and not much of choices for activity.
