At Monteray Shores Clubhouse enjoy the pool, playground, tennis courts, bike & kayak rental, sound fishing/crabbing off the pier, fitness center & kids' activities. We're just steps away from some of the Outer Banks' finest shops & restaurants. You'll love it here!
Added Bonus: We offer Early Arrival at no additional cost! This is unusual for the northern beaches, where almost every other home has a 4pm check-in. There is one main road in and out of the area -- as it gets closer to that 4pm arrival, all that traffic can really back up. Our earlier check-in allows you to beat most of the traffic crossing onto the island and up the coast.

Updates: We've owned this home since 2008 and every year we make repairs, upgrades and additions to what we offer. A few major changes recently include: in 2014 we had the entire exterior of the house painted, added flat-screen tv's in the living area and master bedrooms, and upgraded the entry with "wood" tile flooring. In 2015, we replaced all carpeting throughout the house, added a new washer & dryer and replaced the upper floor HVAC unit.

Overall the home was great! There could've been a few more towels, none were there for the kitchen, and we would've liked a little more seating in the living room....but it was a 5 min walk to the beach, the pool was great and we would definitely rent this home again.

This house is in a great location. A walk to Food Lion, mini golf and other restaurants and shops. The amenities were close and easy to reserve online (tennis/pickleball courts/ fitness center). During our visit we had the pool to ourselves during the late day hours. Also close to beach access. The house had all we needed (coffee pot, pots, pans, dishes, etc). One thing to note….this property is organized and doesn’t have the leftover things other renters leave behind. It’s nice to open cabinets and store your own items in the pantry and not have to worry about junk left from others. The property had plenty of beach items to use.
We were a family with 6 adults and an infant and we had plenty of space inside and out.

We loved the location of this property and the layout worked well for our family. That being said, the property was not as upkept as we had hoped. We had an AC situation that was quickly rectified by the owner. The door to the deck from the master was damaged and needing replacement. There was a terrible smell noted on day one that continued to get worse in the master bedroom. On day three we came back to the house after a long day to discover Maggots in the master bath coming from around the tub. The exterminator was called in but unfortunately there was not much he could do to remedy the situation except spray for the maggots. A dead animal was decaying behind the wall and the wall would need to be cut open and new drywall added. None of which could be done with us staying there. The owner did offer us a $500 credit for the inconvenience, but it was rather disgusting to have to sleep in a room with that odor and knowing what was behind the bathroom door.
It is understandable that sometimes things happen that the owner isn't aware of, however we lost time with family and friends while dealing with this situation on top of having to spend more than half our time living with the smell of death on the living level. This was not an experience I care to repeat.
