Escape to this spacious, 3 bedroom plus loft lakefront log home, tucked away in a peaceful cove on 700 acre, Balch Lake. With an open concept living area, deck, firepit, game room and private dock, this serene retreat offers comfortable gathering and sleeping for 8 and year-round enjoyment in New Hampshire’s Lakes Region.
The space:
The open-concept living space features a dramatic 24-foot fireplace, 65-inch smart TV, dining area, loft with poker/game table and well-appointed kitchen with breakfast bar, making it easy to prepare and gather for memorable meals, play games, or enjoy movie nights. Enjoy the full-length deck overlooking the lake and firepit for relaxing or grilling and the large screened porch with dining table for games or alfresco meals. Ample space available for gathering, games, quiet time, reading, puzzles, and crafts.
The second floor features a relaxing primary suite with spa-like bath featuring a 2-person jetted tub, separate shower, comfortable queen bed and balcony. The loft area offers versatile space with a game table and queen futon.
In the unfinished basement entertainment room, challenge friends on the 14-foot shuffleboard table, aim for bullseyes at the dart board, enjoy the ping pong or foosball table and nostalgic arcade with 60 classic games, then wind down by the cozy wood stove with TV and 100+ movie library. For a workout, use the Bowflex and free weights.

Host was amazing. The good….Communication was 11/10. Game room in basement is second to none…Kitchen is huge and cozy. Master bathroom is a vacation all by itself. I would copy in my own home if I could. Giant open common area held 9 people doing various things comfortably. Things that need attention….If you’re planning to bring a boat, the docking can be tricky as it’s in a narrow shallow stream off of a cove with a rock in an unfortunate spot right where the boat goes. The walk down could use a handrail as it’s steep, slick with pine needles and leaves, and full of trip hazards (tree roots).The outside deck needs immediate attention. Railing was flimsy and completely detached in one corner. Multiple raised nailheads and overly weathered boards made being barefoot dangerous. Both grills, the kayaks, and the coffee machine were left for us to clean before using. In the case of the coffee machine, the old filter was fuzzy with mold. One comforter was inadvertently folded and put away after some apparent amorous activity. I suppose the couple before us REALLY liked the cabin. Lastly, There is only one window ac unit in the main area. Our nighttime temps were in the 80s. Even with the extra fans we brought, the sleeping was rough. One more small ac upstairs would fix that. Overall we enjoyed our visit but were a bit let down by a handful of small, easily avoidable things that we hope Michelle and husband can address. 7/10 but could be 9/10 or even 10/10 easily.

Michelle was so responsive and easy to contact with any questions. The house is very comfortable, with numerous areas for people to hang out. We were in the area for a wedding so didn't have much time to take advantage of the water activities, but really enjoyed the basement games and the spacious accommodations! Would love to come back sometime to explore the outdoor activities and local area.
