The village is the cradle of a modest family, the Hautevilles, who left in the Middle Ages to found a powerful kingdom in Sicily and southern Italy. A free museum recounting this epic journey is open all summer. The Etang des Sarcelles pond is 5 km away. Coutances and its cathedral are 14 km away.
