Free Parking 3-Bedroom House Near York Town

We appreciated the close proximity to York and the ability to walk into the city. We really appreciated the friendliness of the host initially and the ability to use the washer and dryer as well as the host allowing us to check in a few hours early since the house was ready.

The first and second bedrooms are on the second floor up very steep stairs. The third bedroom is on the third floor up another set of very very steep stairs. My kids were scared to stay in the third bedroom alone! The bathroom did not have an exhaust fan and despite leaving the window open while showering, the bathroom was very humid and also cold. We air dried clothes in the bathroom overnight and nothing dried for this reason. It was very cold. The facilities were not dirty, but things are just on the older side and therefore dingy (baseboards, bathroom ceiling, etc)… just not as clean, updated, or nice as I’d prefer. Another issue,… I moved the nightstand in the third bedroom over to see if there was an outlet nearby and the drawers fell out of alignment. I could tell that the nightstand was barely holding itself together prior to me sliding it over since it fell apart so easily. I meant to message the host about this, but it slipped my mind between our busy days of travel and long day of walking around York. Once I finally got to a place with decent WiFi, I was dismayed to discover a nasty message from the host implying that I had intentionally neglected to inform her about the broken nightstand. That was my bad, I should have messaged her right away, and I did not. It had been a long day and it simply slipped my mind… again, not thinking to was a big deal as the nightstand clearly had issues that were not new. In that same message she also reprimanded me for not messaging her when we had left the house. I did not realize that i needed to… and again, after packing and loading 5 people in the car that morning, it was not at the top of my mind. We left the house by the check out time- earlier even- and did not realize I needed to send a message confirming that. My bad- if that is the policy, I didn’t realize it.

Location was good on street parking was easy, property was clean with good facilities.

Clean and comfortable. Easy walk into York. Free car parking

Bathroom needs more ventilation as can see where the ceiling might start getting mould. Very steep stairs.

It’s very homy and cozy.

It’s still cold for us despite the heater was set to the max.
