the Moto Hotel Shinjuku

Quiet at night, extremely comfortable mattress and bedding. Clean bathroom with excellent water pressure. Extremely responsive and helpful messaging with staff. Thank you for placing us on the second floor where small but loud footsteps couldn’t disturb the floor below us.

I wish there was a wall mounted drying rack to help free up counter space in the small kitchen area. I also wish there was somewhere to store clothes off the floor in the futon room.

We absolutely loved the location of this hotel … close to the vibrant Shinjuku area but more like a neighbourhood, but with plenty of restaurants and amenities like grocery stores nearby. We also loved the space for a family of four … great to have 2 bedrooms and it worked perfectly for us.

There wasn’t anything we did not like.

It’s faceless but they answered questions very quickly which is great.

I stayed at Moto Hotel in Shinjuku, Tokyo, and overall it was a decent experience, especially for the price. The biggest highlight is definitely the location. It’s about a 15–20 minute walk to the main shopping and entertainment areas in Shinjuku, which made it very convenient to get around while still being in a quieter neighborhood. The pricing is also very reasonable for Tokyo, so it’s a good option if you’re traveling on a budget. The accommodation itself was simple but functional, and it worked fine for a week of stay.

The walls are quite thin, so noise from neighboring rooms can be noticeable at times. There’s also no front desk, which can be inconvenient if you need assistance during your stay. Additionally, if you need extra items for the room, they’re not included—you have to request and pay for them à la carte. One other thing that stood out was the bedding. One of the mattresses was not a proper mattress and felt very thin, which made it less comfortable than expected.
