Taco Shack Diving Hostel Restaurant

One of my fave hostels in Thailand. Great location, social yet chilled vibes. Super friendly helpful staff. Love the terrace area

The one shared toilet/shower in the dorm is annoying when 6 people are trying to get ready. Also would’ve liked some amenities such as provided drinking water

The location was perfect and we couldn’t ask for better. The staff were so lovely. We had a private room which was fine. It wasn’t dirty at all but didn’t have the clean feel. Towels and blankets were clean but didn’t smell clean but it was fine. Koh Tao is the most expensive island we’ve stayed on so when you take it into account the price for here isn’t terrible.

I probably wouldn’t come back unless I wanted to dive

Good hostel, social events on but quiet after 11pm. Great location less than 10 minutes down to the beach, plenty of shops and restaurants around. Rooms and beds cleaned each day which was great. Would definitely stay again

Room and bathroom very basic

It was in a good location - about 5 minutes walk to Sairee village and 10 minutes walk to Sairee beach. There is a small mart next door that works if you need water, drinks, cosmetics or snacks. It was close to everything but just enough removed that there was minimal noise at night so we could sleep properly. It was well air conditioned and works well for travellers on a budget who will be spending most of their time out and about.

The private room was dark and felt a bit dated. There wasn’t much view from the window or balcony and the bathroom was very small and cramped. The floors in the bedroom sometimes felt damp and there was a damp smell from the bedding. Despite there being a sign saying rooms were cleaned daily, our room wasn’t cleaned once in our 7 night stay. The room was also located in a separate building across the road from the main hostel so it didn’t feel as social as other hostels.
