Wine House - Quinta Vale de Carvalho

Idyllic location, we didn't want to move once we got there, beautiful views all round. Our suite and bathroom were comfortable and high end. The pool and area around it was perfect and we loved the terrace too, especially at breakfast. Pedro was a perfect host and very capable chef, using much of his own produce for food and drink he provided for us; definitely take up the meal offer! Photos don't do it justice.

We spent two wonderful days at the Wine House, and it was by far our favorite destination during our 10-day road trip in the Douro Valley. Pedro is incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive, and his passion really makes the stay special. We enjoyed delicious dinners and wine created by him. The place is new, beautiful, and surrounded by vineyards with complete peace and quiet. The pool area and sun beds are lovely, the rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the views are stunning. The location is quite remote, with narrow roads to reach it and no nearby shops (the closest are about an hour away), but that is also what makes it the perfect place to disconnect and relax. A truly special escape to enjoy great food, wine, sunshine, and tranquillity. We would definitely come back!

Local sossegado com uma vista excepcional para o Douro, a suite é espectacular (recomendo). Bom pequeno-almoço, mas os jantares conquistam qualquer um. Pedro é um grande anfitrião.

Acessos à quinta não são os melhores

This is a special place.. when we arrived, our first thoughts were... 'this is in the middle of nowhere ',but that's wat it makes it do special. You are surrounded by vineyards... Olive trees... Orange trees... Melon trees and not to forget.. this amazing view on the Douro river. You can have dinner , just make a reservation. The owner is cooking for you, making some Portuguese specialties. Just perfect.

The only negative thing I can find is, that the toilet and bathroom is visible for the whole room. Is seperated by glass...
