Happy Meadows - Mushroom Street

Quite difficult to find at first, the location took us to a random house, in the end we found the place further up the road. Super lovely host, very friendly and bubbly! The tent is completely away from absolutely everything very peaceful and quiet, great privacy no walkers or roads and very far from the host's home. She provided us with some wood for the stove and fresh water. Unfortunately the toilet wasn't accessible but there was another option provided. Upon leaving, the host offered for us to see her farm animals including Highland cows, goats, baby peacocks, sheep, geese and turkeys. We even got to feed them! Very friendly animals. I think if I go that way again I'll definitely stay here again - but probably in the Summer.

There seemed to be an issue where the host wasn't made aware we were coming, so it was quite a shock for her... BUT she welcomed us with open arms and let us stay regardless. We were at the end of a storm staying here. There was some wetness on the floor, possibly due to condensation. Obviously, the toilet being out wasn't great, but as said before, we had another option provided for toileting.

Bed was really comfortable and the tent very cosy. Location was excellent and was very peaceful. The owner was very nice and helpful.

They should make it easier to find as google gets confused (sent me up the road) a simple map would really help and a decent sized sign. The electrics in the toilet didn't work, there was no proper bin in the tent, there were no instructions (e.g. how to use the stove, what local walks there might be etc..). The stove, which I used, needs a good service: the door secure fell off for example). There should also be a fresh water supply other than the toilet sink. I did understand that the site was 'off grid' and that for a really nice location you can expect to pay some premium, but it felt a lot of money for what I got.
