A Terrace Above Ancient Rome

This was a fantastic property. First of all, the air conditioning was AMAZING! We have been travelling for a month through the heat wave in Europe and many apartments or flats said they had air-conditioning and either they didn’t, or it was pathetic. But this unit has ice cold, excellent air-conditioning that cools the place down in no time at all. This was definitely surprising to us considering the amount of windows the place has, but it was brilliant. The flat was incredibly clean when we arrived, and well laid out. The flat has everything you need in regards to linens and towels and bedding, etc. It is very spacious and has lots of light. The layout of the apartment is unique and super cute. The washing machine was super handy, and the veranda was a great place for both having an evening drink, as well as dry clothes after they’ve been washed. The bed was comfortable and my teenage sons both found the sofa bed to be perfectly fine as well. The shower was great with hot water and excellent water pressure. The host who met us to give us the keys was lovely and the company was quick to respond when we sent messages back and forth. The neighbourhood felt incredibly safe, it was literally steps from the Roman Forum, which made it easy to walk to the Colosseum and other sites. And when some of the sites we wanted to see were a little bit further, our location was easy to find and get to with the Ubers and taxis. There are a lovely couple of restaurants as well as a shop all within one minute of the flat. We really enjoyed staying at this location.

We only had one issue with the place: The Internet was non-existent for the first three days of our four day stay. We were told that it was the provider Vodafone and that it was a neighbourhood issue, but after three days a technician finally came out and dealt with it so it seems to have been related to our flat specifically. Regardless of whether it was an issue because of the flat, or the provider, we have to give an honest review so other people can make the appropriate choices and we feel that for some guests internet needs to be more reliable, especially if you have travellers who are also trying to do work while abroad. But that is the absolute only issue we had and hopefully it has been sorted out. Once the Wi-Fi had been sorted, the connection was steady and consistent and very strong, working well throughout the entire unit with four people using it. Also, if wifi Internet isn’t important to you, then this is the perfect place to stay in every other aspect.

La decoración , la ubicación , lo cómoda que era la cama . Tenía una terraza maravillosa que por desgracia casi no pudimos usar por falta de tiempo . Muy céntrico pero aislado del ruido de la calle . Volvería sin duda .

Por ponerle un pero …que al no haber persianas en la sala, solo cortinas ( es toda la pared un ventanal que da a la terraza ) , quienes duermen en el sofá cama se encuentran con el inconveniente de que les entra la luz a raudales cuando amanece .

Die Lage des Apartments ist wirklich hervorragend. Viele Sehenswürdigkeiten und Ziele lassen sich bequem zu Fuß erreichen, und Restaurants sind nur etwa fünf Minuten entfernt. Besonders praktisch fanden wir den kleinen Feinkostladen direkt gegenüber, in dem man leckere Speisen kaufen und diese entspannt im Apartment genießen kann, wenn man einmal nicht auswärts essen möchte. Die Wohnung selbst ist hell und freundlich gestaltet. Der Ausblick vom Wohnzimmer auf die Stadt ist sehr schön und trägt zu einem angenehmen Aufenthalt bei.

Wie bereits von anderen Gästen erwähnt, fehlen im Wohnzimmer Vorhänge. Dadurch wird es morgens sehr früh hell, sodass unsere Kinder oft schon mit dem ersten Tageslicht aufgewacht sind. Das Badezimmer ist zwar recht klein, machte aber einen frisch renovierten und gepflegten Eindruck. Was uns jedoch gestört hat, war, dass es keine Möglichkeit gab, Handtücher aufzuhängen, da weder Haken noch andere Aufhängemöglichkeiten vorhanden waren. Die Küche haben wir nicht genutzt, da sie auf uns leider nicht ausreichend sauber wirkte und daher keinen einladenden Eindruck hinterließ.
