The Zion Chapel

Location is brilliant. Very unique setting and incredibley peaceful.

The converted chapel is spacious, beautifully done, and spotless. It feels special without being fussy. The welcome touches were generous (cake, bread, butter, milk, eggs, bacon, coffee and tea), the kitchen is very well equipped, the underfloor heating works perfectly, Wi-Fi is excellent, and the sound system is genuinely great. The location is ideal: quiet and tucked away, yet the village is a short walk and the Dean Forest Heritage Centre is five minutes away. I ended up doing a three-hour forest walk straight from the door.

A few small improvements would easily make this a full 5★ stay: Adding food storage containers in the kitchen would be helpful, especially since you’re likely cooking most meals here. The bed could be upgraded slightly (mattress/size) given the price point. Some lighting mixes warm and cool bulbs — keeping everything warm would enhance the atmosphere. Very minor: the TV is quite small. None of these detract much from the stay.
