I booked a family room through Agoda, trusting the platform for the first time. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing.
The room had absolutely no ventilation, and there was severe suffocation inside. We also felt something like a strange gas leakage or unpleasant smell, which made it impossible for us to stay in the room. The hotel was located in a very narrow, alley-like area, which made the overall experience even more uncomfortable.
When we contacted the reception, the staff simply told us that all their four-person rooms were like this. There was no proper ventilation, no complimentary drinking water, and hardly any basic facilities. We checked in late at night, around 10 PM, and despite the inconvenience, the hotel did not offer any proper alternative or compensation.
As a compromise, we had to take a single room and sleep on the floor. We paid for a family room but did not receive the room or facilities we had booked, and the hotel did not compensate us for the money we had paid.
What was even more disappointing was that the hotel staff said they had not received any information from Agoda regarding our booking or situation.
This was my first time blindly trusting Agoda, and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. As a family traveller, I would not recommend this hotel, especially the four-person/family rooms, to other families. I sincerely hope Agoda takes such complaints seriously and ensures that customers receive the rooms and facilities they have actually paid for.
