About this house rental

The house is a classic 1954 Territorial style adobe home with modern upgrades. Enjoy the comforts of home in this distinctive westside residence on 2 acres of native Sonoran Desert. Relax in the beautiful, secluded, fully fenced in back yard with a private pool. A perfect location for family get aways or small group retreats. The house was recently a beloved family home that we hope you too create beautiful memories in!

Located in Tucson’s Westside Foothills this home has the best of both worlds. Enjoy Tucson’s rich cultural heritage, designated as the only UNESCO City of Gastronomy in Northern America, and explore the Sonoran Desert ecology with ease. Less than 5 mins from Saguaro National Monument West (a certified Dark-Sky Park), Star Pass Marriot Golf course, local restaurants, grocery stores, or pharmacy and only 15 mins to the east for local culture and business destinations (Mission Gardens, Mercado San Augustine, El Charro Restaurant, El Tiradito, The Fox Theater, Rialto Theater, Club Congress, Tucson Museum of Art, Tucson Children’s Museum) and University of Arizona. Only 15 mins to the west are national heritage sites (Arizona-Sonoran Desert Museum, Old Tucson Studios). On this property, you can enjoy the tranquility of the Sonoran Desert and easily participate in what this vibrant City has to offer. The house is nestled at the end of a one-way lane and offers a quiet neighborhood experience.

The dining area can seat up to 8, the kitchen is fully stocked with all of the essentials. The open plan kitchen and dining room offer charm adorned with vintage tile counter tops, original iron red concrete flooring, wood cabinets, Bosch dishwasher, and adaptive space for intimate or family style dinning. The kitchen is fully equipped for all your culinary needs with salt, pepper, spices, oil, pots, pans, baking trays, cupcake trays, drip coffee maker, french press, tea pot, ninga blender, and Instapot (pressure cooker). For outdoor cooking there is a gas grill, a weber, and a built-in fire pit. Indoor seating can be reconfigured to family style from the dining room or with a “kids table” in the kitchen. Tables and chairs are vintage Danish modern. There is an additional 6’ plastic table in the hallway closet if needed. Tablecloth and cloth napkins are in the armoire in the living room. There is a laundry room just next to the fridge.

The three bedrooms sleep 6 comfortably (x2 in the bunk bed, central room queen x2, and master bed queen x2). Bedrooms are fully equipped with hypoallergenic pillows and linens for all seasons. The living room couch has an additional full-sized sleeper and there are two twin air mattresses located in the central room closet if additional accommodation is needed. All rooms have ceiling fans and vents that allow for a/c circulation. There are three, YES three bathrooms in the house. With a tub off the master bath. Please do not use any chlorinated products in the bathrooms or toilets and only septic safe toilet paper is allowed. There should be plenty of appropriate cleaning products and toilet paper on site. The plumbing is connected to two septic systems on either side of the house. Both are newly installed and are serviced regularly. When you leave the home please put all used towels in the clothes hampers, there is one in the master bath, one in the middle room bath, and one in the bunkbed room closet.

Vaulted 20' ceilings and fans with central fireplace for the winter months make this room the heart of the home. Equipped with a 40” TV is mounted above the fireplace with Bluetooth access to Disney+, Netflix, Hulu, Discovery, Amazon, AppleTV and more. The large sliding glass door offers and instant view of the desert landscape and wildlife. It should be kept closed at all times. The baby grand piano can be played gently. An eclectic collection of records can be played from the record player in one of the mesquite armoires. The cabinets contain games, books, and local magazines. Don’t hesitate to explore all the house has to offer. The homeowners were both local artists and lived in Tucson for 25 years so you will find some gem pieces of Tucson’s culture scene and memorabilia around. Please refrain from using the vintage household ware in the armoire in the living room. They are family pieces on display for decoration.

The pool is 8’ deep, perfect for a refreshing dip anytime day or night. It is not heated so the best months for swimming are March-November. We love to cold dip in the winter months of Dec.-Feb. Inflatables and plenty of pool towels and umbrellas are outside for your use. Pool towels are provided in the basket outside. We would appreciate it if you only use bathroom towels inside. Please make sure you close the outdoor umbrellas when you're not using them. The largest umbrella needs to be rolled underneath the swamp cooler. When the wind picks up, it can take the umbrellas with it if they are open. Thank you! The fire pit can be used for evening star-gazing or for cooking on the open flame. There are plenty of solar lights to guide you through the front yard and poolside. An east-facing porch and hammock offer the seclusion of native plant species for a morning cup of coffee while the indoor/ outdoor tranquility room off the master bath invites an environment for yoga or contemplation. Just steps away from the front entrance is a separate one-car garage with parking up to 6 cars outdoors. Please keep the doors in the garage closed at all times.

Surrounded by local wildlife, you will see javelinas, deer, bobcats, hummingbirds, harris and coopers hawks, quail, rabbits, and coyotes near the small pond on the property. While the living area is fenced, you are staying on 2 acres of which 1 acre is open land. Snakes (mainly non-venomous), scorpions, and a rarely seen gila monster also live on the property (outside of the human habitation). Scorpion lights are located at the back door and front door as a precaution. Please maintain a healthy distance from wildlife habitats for your safety and for theirs.

The home is accessed through the front door by code provided to you 24 hrs before your arrival. This home is located on 2 acres. There is a one-car garage with plenty of outdoor parking on the lot (up to 6 cars outdoors). The neighborhood is quiet, and neighbors are respectful of one another’s privacy. No loud noise outside after 10 pm it is a quiet family and retiree neighborhood.

The checkout date should be the day after your last night. Choose the date after your last night's stay as your check-out date.

We had a fantastic short stay at this home (wish we would've booked longer). Right away the home felt welcoming, the decor is so eclectic and interesting, with little finds and convenient amenities everwhere you look. We particularly enjoyed the kids playing piano, the pool and the hammocks. Check in and out was very smooth, we'd absolutely recommend staying here

It had all the amenities that we needed and more, making it comfortable and convenient. From the moment we arrived.
