Ruya Villa Ubud

The location was fantastic. Very peaceful, quiet area, with a great restaurant across the road and a fantastic luwak coffee tour right next door. The house looked great as per the photos but under the surface there were a lot of issues.

It would appear no one had stayed in the property for quite some time as there were so many issues from the moment we arrived. - Bathroom doors were stuck and couldn't be opened (had to call staff back) - The padlock on the front gate jammed, which they blamed on us, trying to say we'd broken it when clearly it was just an old lock which had seized. To their credit they did come out and replace it overnight. - There was no gas in the kitchen - Lock broken on the living room ranch slider so it couldn't keep any valuables in that part of the house. - The water in the house didn't work didn't so we couldn't shower the first night or in the morning, which we were told repeatedly by the staff was because at the time the pump is on for the pool (apparently on a timer that they have no control over), there's no water in the house, which seems like a major design flaw. On the second day, when we still didn't have any water, we discovered that the pool pump was continuously on because the float was broken. We fixed it by temporarily propping it up and then had water in the house again. After many interruptions from the friendly but not well-trained staff, such as driving to our property to knock on our gate at night to give us the Wi-Fi code instead of just sending it via WhatsApp which is where we asked for it since it wasn't provided at check-in, the owner then arrived unannounced as we were on our way out. Whilst he was very friendly, it just felt like another intrusion after having people back trying to get so many things working. He was annoyed we had our dogs there even though the listing said pet friendly and we had reached out in advance via the booking platform to make sure it was okay we brought our two small dogs with us. They had messaged to confirm it was no problem. The owner then tried to blame the staff for not knowing that you could just turn the tap off at the pool.

L’accueil était chaleureux. La piscine était parfaite. Les lits étaient très confortables.

La villa est compartimentée en plusieurs pièces, c’est dommage. Le matériel et la déco ne sont pas très bien entretenus, mais ce n’est pas dérangeant pour un séjour touristique .
