I have so many mixed feelings about this hotel! First of all, the room is spacious, reasonably comfortable (although I found the bed too soft for my comfort) and had tons of space for what we needed. However, the bathroom is very smelly and there's sewage smell that comes into the room via the bathroom. This was a major issue for us although we tried our best to ignore it. The rooms and resort is rather charmingly built and there's a nice sitting space outside each chalet where you can dry clothes and other things from the beach. The rooms are all along a quiet road owned by the resort, and it provided a very nice reprieve from the busy main road of Kata. Kata itself is too crowded, and walking along the streets you often get assaulted by sewage smells too, in addition to weed smell, and tons of people smoking cigarettes and weed in the streets. The roads of Kata and the sidewalks are not well built, and if you have young children or need a pram, I would not recommend it. There's a lot of activity along the main street, lots of food options, massage shops, so it was nice having that nearby. The beach is a few minutes walk away, and it is quite nice. Crowded but nice. I must commend the manager of the resort who was at the reception most of the day, he was always ready to help and provide information, to chat, or just to say hello. I appreciated his help whenever it was requested. Another thing is that there was no housekeeping in the room through out our 3 day stay, which surprised us a bit but that's okay, we didn't need much cleaning up nor changing of towels. No toiletries are provided beyond bath soap and a small bottle of shampoo, so please bring your own. I think you can request for more if you run out during your stay, but you'll have to go to the reception.

I had a very pleasant stay at Spice and Sea Resort in Kata Beach. The property is well located, making it easy to get around while still feeling relaxed and comfortable, with clear Italian vibes that add a distinctive and welcoming touch. Francesca was exceptionally friendly and genuinely helpful. She provided excellent tips about the local area and well-chosen recommendations for excursions, which made the stay even more enjoyable. The rest of the staff were equally welcoming and professional throughout. The room was clean, well maintained, and ideal for a solo stay. Overall, this is a solid choice in Kata Beach: good location, warm hospitality, and a relaxed atmosphere with a subtle but authentic Italian influence. I would confidently recommend it.
