About this lodge
Situated on the Black Isle, this superior roomy self-catering accommodation is 7 miles from Fortrose, 7 miles from Cromarty, 20 from Inverness and 13 from Dingwall.
The accommodation, which can sleep up to 5 people maximum 4 adults, comprises an entrance hall, dining room with TV and CD/DVD player, fully equipped kitchen, conservatory, 2 sitting rooms with TV's, Wifi throughout, large king size bedroom with TV, double bedroom with en suite bathroom, single child bedroom and a second bathroom with shower.
Also, there is a sun deck at the front of the lodge and French doors to a secluded rear terrace. There is a large private enclosed garden with adequate room for children and families to relax.
The local attractions in the historic town of Cromarty include the Courthouse, Hugh Miller's home and organised Dolphin boat trips. In nearby Fortrose and Rosemarkie are extensive beach facilities, the peninsular for observing dolphins and the Groam House Pictish museum. The lodge is close to the North Coast 500 route.
There are several good restaurants in the local area and a full range in Inverness and Dingwall. The nearest distillery visitor centres are at Muir of Ord (Glen Ord), Invergordon (Dalmore) and Tain(Glenmorangie), all excellent malt Whiskies.
For golfers, the lodge is an ideal central location with at least 11 quality Highland courses (including the championship courses of Royal Dornoch and Nairn) within a 45 minute drive.
The lodge is ideal for a winter break. It has excellent insulation and is heated by electricity throughout - there are many local walks nearby and good hill climbing and walking within 30 minutes drive.
Skiing at the Cairngorms is 1 hour away.
