About this house rental

A secluded, beautifully renovated beachfront home in a gated, century-old dune forest community—with deeded private Lake Michigan frontage and a quiet stretch of sand all your own.

Four bedrooms, three full baths, three king beds, accommodations for up to ten, two living areas, expansive lakefront decks, and everything your family needs for effortless days on the water. Completely renovated and newly furnished in 2026, the home features brand-new furniture, mattresses, luxurious bedding, appliances, cookware, and household essentials throughout.

THE ARRIVAL

Turn off Lakeshore Drive, pass through the private gate, and the everyday world falls away behind you.

The lane climbs and winds through a secluded dune forest—towering trees, rolling hills, and sunlight filtering through the canopy. For a moment, it feels like stepping back into the Lake Michigan of long, unhurried summers.

Then the trail opens to the water, the enormous sky, and a bright coastal home resting above the dune.

Welcome to The Wilderness.

YOUR OWN STRETCH OF LAKE MICHIGAN

This is true private beachfront—increasingly rare along the Lake Michigan coast.

A staircase winds down through the dune to the home’s deeded private frontage: a wide, soft-sand beach with a gently sloping, swimmable sandbar made for children, floating, and long afternoons in the water.

It is just forty steps down the low bluff, and everything you need is already waiting:

• Two kayaks
• Two paddleboards
• Two boogie boards
• Beach chairs for the whole group
• A sunshade
• Beach games

Coming and going is easy, too. A warm-water rinse station at the top of the beach stairs takes care of sandy feet, while a full outdoor shower tucked along the side of the house allows everyone to rinse off completely and enter through the lower level.

Mornings begin with coffee and walks along the quiet shoreline. Evenings end on the deck, watching the sun sink into the lake as the lights of the Grand Haven pier glow in the distance.

THE HOME

Renovated from top to bottom and completely furnished in 2026, the house blends classic Lake Michigan coastal character with a fresh, refined interior. Every piece of furniture was purchased new and selected specifically for the home, creating a space that feels cohesive, elevated, and genuinely new—not like a typical rental assembled over time.

Walls of windows bring the water into nearly every room, while light oak floors, soft whites, warm wood tones, and natural textures create an atmosphere that feels calm, airy, and distinctly coastal.

The main living room is the heart of the home, anchored by a fireplace and a bay of windows framing the lake. Generous, comfortable seating and custom built-ins provide plenty of room for the entire group to gather.

Tucked toward the back of the house, the den offers a second living space for movie nights, rainy afternoons, or a quiet place to unwind. It features deep, comfortable seating and a 65-inch smart television.

The kitchen is equally new, with all-new appliances, cookware, dishes, glassware, serving pieces, and household essentials. It is designed for real cooking and easy entertaining, whether you are preparing fresh Lake Michigan whitefish, grilling at sunset, or serving breakfast before a day at the beach. The kitchen opens to a dining room with seating for up to ten.

WHERE EVERYONE SLEEPS

Three king bedrooms and a lower-level family room with one queen bed and two twin beds comfortably accommodate up to ten guests.

Meticulous attention was given to the comfort of every bed. All mattresses, pillows, linens, duvets, and bedding were purchased new in 2026 and thoughtfully layered to feel soft, airy, fluffy, and luxurious. Crisp sheets, plush duvets, supportive pillows, and comfortable mattresses make each bedroom feel more like a boutique coastal hotel than a vacation rental.

The Lakefront Primary Suite

Located on the second floor overlooking the lake, the primary suite features a king bed, reading chairs, a desk, a private ensuite bath, and a wall of windows framing open water. Screened windows allow you to fall asleep to the sound of the waves.

The Lakefront King Room

Also located on the second floor, this serene king bedroom offers beautiful Lake Michigan views and screened windows that let in the lake breeze and the sound of the shoreline.

The Wilderness King Room

Set at the quiet rear of the house, this peaceful king bedroom is illuminated by a skylight and looks into the surrounding dune forest. It has the tucked-away feeling of a private treehouse retreat.

The Coast Guard Room

Located on the lower level, the Coast Guard Room is a playful nautical retreat with signal flags, a 65-inch smart television, one queen bed, and two twin beds. Sleeping up to four, it is the perfect space for children, teenagers, or a family to claim as their own.

Three full bathrooms serve the home, including the private ensuite bath in the primary suite.

LIFE ON THE DECK

Much of the magic happens outside.

The expansive main deck is designed for gathering high above the dune, with an outdoor sofa and lounge chairs, swivel “lookout” chairs angled toward the lake, and a dining table with seating for ten. A separate bistro table offers a quiet spot for morning coffee or an evening drink for two.

A new Napoleon grill is ready for golden-hour dinners as the sun drops toward the horizon.

Below, a second deck features two double chaise lounges for sunbathing during the day and stargazing after dark.

THE SETTING

The home feels completely secluded, yet it is only about four miles from downtown Grand Haven—one of the Great Lakes’ most beloved beach towns.

Spend an afternoon along the harbor and boardwalk, watch the Musical Fountain, or explore the town’s walkable collection of shops, breweries, cafés, and restaurants. Local favorites include the Unicorn Tavern, Lucy’s Backyard, Grand Armory Brewing, and the Toasted Pickle.

The acclaimed American Dunes Golf Club, a Jack Nicklaus-designed course open to the public, is just minutes away.

Rosy Mound Natural Area—home to some of the finest dune-and-forest hiking on the lakeshore—is also nearby. Holland, Saugatuck, and the orchards and wineries of West Michigan are all within an easy drive.

WHY YOU’LL REMEMBER IT

Privacy. A beach of your own. Evenings gathered above the dune. Sunsets you will talk about for years. And the deep quiet of a forest that has looked much the same for a century.

This is the Lake Michigan people spend a lifetime looking for—and for a few weeks each year, it can be yours.
