Our family of 6 (4 teenage boys) loved our stay at the Fortezza Residence. Jesus met us when we arrived and explained everything we needed to know about the residence. There was a breakfast place directly next to the apartment which we found handy in the mornings and a little mini market across the street. As other reviews mentioned, it is a 10 min walk to the apartment from the train station and quite easy to find. We appreciated how walkable the city was from this location. Plus, the apartment had a washer (dryer) which we needed as we packed light. Would definitely recommend!

Fortezza is located centrally - close to the main station (SMN) and to tourist attractions. The kitchen is well equipped, they have a few board games and give a complementary wine.
Jesus David was very helpful and prompt in solving the small hiccups that we faced during our stay.

The apartment is one of the best I’ve ever stayed in. It is spacious, clean, and has everything we need. The washer and dryer are a huge plus. Having two bathrooms is very convenient. It is a 10-minute walk from the Florence train station and about 15 minutes from the Duomo and the Uffizi Gallery. There are also two cafés downstairs that are great for coffee and sandwiches.

This place was spacious- the two bedrooms provided more than enough space which was so welcome during a tour of Italy as some places we’ve stayed in were tiny. The beds were comfortable. The place was very quiet. The black out curtains were fantastic. The host left a bottle of wine which was wonderful but what really put this place over the top besides comfort and location, was its convenience- easy to do laundry while there, the coffee maker was great and best of all… it seems a small thing- but carafes of cold water in the fridge and ice in the freezer were so nice as it was in the 90s every day we were there (May 2026). This place had everything we needed and more. I highly recommend!
I was not a fan of the fragrance in the apartment - I believe it was diffuser sticks. But that was a small personal preference.
