Minpaku MATSURI 民泊まつり

The environment is beautiful. The river is 100m far but the tenant is what makes that place special. I feel very fortunate to get there and meet that place. We were talking for more than 1h and she cooked really homemade Japanese food which was really yummy. If I walk The kumano kodo again, I'll stay there for sure.

Meiko was so warm and accommodating. Her food was so lovely and she sat with us and basically roasted us for being Americans and it was just so funny. We had a sweet cat that let me pick him up and he chilled in my lap while I gave pets. After that I was covered in cat hair but it didn’t matter, Meiko to the rescue with the lint roller! Great experience. She speaks no English but it’s just better that way. And the iPad translation makes for more laughs. Perfect stop on a tough voyage ahead

Perfect location near the edge of Chiketsuyu to reach the Kumano Kodo. The Home's owner was very polite and kind, letting me check in early, even though it's against rules and inconvenienced her (IM SO SORRY). The dinner was beautiful and delicious, packed with salt and nutrients I desperately needed from the hike. The room and bed were clean and relaxing (and had wifi!) I was hiking early so I asked for an early bento to go. Initially she said no, but in the morning, after showering I was soon on my way with a hearty heap of fried rice and egg sandwiches! Thank you SO MUCH for accommodating my requests. I'll try to not be so rushed and be more on time next time!

Only thing here is she had to use google translate, but it didn't stall conversation that much.

Welcoming accommodation, comfortable, clean and convenient. Beautiful fresh food, catered for gluten free with ease.
